Our mission is to deliver high-quality accounting, tax, and advisory services that help clients stay compliant, manage their finances efficiently, and grow their practices sustainably.
We are expanding our offshore operations and are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant with expertise in year-end accounts finalization under FRS 102 and IFRS to join our remote India-based team.
Role Overview
The Senior Accountant will lead the preparation and finalization of statutory year-end accounts for a portfolio of UK healthcare clients. You will work closely with UK client managers, junior accountants, and bookkeepers to ensure timely and accurate delivery of financial statements, ensuring compliance with UK accounting and tax standards.
This role requires strong technical expertise in FRS 102, FRS 105, and IFRS, as well as excellent coordination and communication skills to manage client relationships and internal deliverables effectively.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts Finalization & Review:
- Prepare and review year-end financial statements for limited companies, partnerships, and sole traders in line with FRS 102, FRS 105, and IFRS requirements.
- Perform full trial balance reviews, adjusting entries, and reconciliations prior to account finalization.
- Ensure accuracy in all accounting treatments, including depreciation, accruals, prepayments, provisions, and deferred tax.
- Review bookkeeping work completed by junior staff to ensure completeness and compliance.
- Liaise with auditors (where applicable) and ensure all audit queries are resolved promptly.
Compliance & Reporting:
- Ensure all accounts are compliant with UK GAAP and Companies House requirements.
- Support preparation and review of Corporation Tax Computations (CT600) and liaise with the UK tax team.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client working papers and documentation in accordance with internal standards.
- Assist in the implementation of new accounting and compliance processes.
Client Management:
- Coordinate directly with UK clients, addressing year-end and accounting queries.
- Work collaboratively with client managers to ensure timely delivery of all deliverables.
- Build trusted relationships through professionalism, technical competence, and proactive communication.
Team Coordination & Leadership:
- Mentor and guide junior accountants and bookkeepers.
- Review their work to ensure data integrity, accuracy, and adherence to deadlines.
- Support workflow management, prioritization, and practice-level process improvement initiatives.
Required Skills & Qualifications Essential:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting, Commerce, or related field.
- Minimum 4—6 years of experience in accountancy practice (UK experience preferred).
- Proven expertise in year-end accounts preparation under FRS 102 and IFRS.
- Strong understanding of UK GAAP, Companies House, and HMRC compliance requirements.
- Hands-on experience with Xero (and Xero Tax).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Strong analytical, review, and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and cloud accounting systems.
Desirable:
- ACCA/ CIMA / ACA part-qualified or qualified.
- Prior experience managing or supervising a small accounting team.
- Experience in healthcare or medical sector accounting.
- Familiarity with Corporation Tax preparation or UK audit experience.
Working Hours:
- Standard UK business hours (approx. 8:00 AM — 5:30 PM GMT)
- Monday to Friday (occasional flexibility for UK filing deadlines)
- Fully remote — work from home with stable power and internet connectivity
Benefits:
- Competitive salary based on experience
- 20 days of annual leave (increasing by 1 day each year of service)
- Health insurance coverage
- Study support for professional qualifications (ACCA / CIMA / ICAEW)
- Opportunities for international relocation to the UK, UAE, or USA
