EH&S Supervisor – NGHP – PWE GRID

The incumbent will work closely with the AIR PRODUCTS Construction Manager with oversite of Contractor EPC in the area of responsibility.

The incumbent is expected to

• have detailed knowledge of EH&S requirements and best practices related to construction and pre-commissioning safety 
• have extensive work experience in Project/Construction Management and EPC arena.
• have knowledge and experience in Overhead Transmission and/or Wind Power and/or Solar Facilities.
• Specialize in documentation, investigation and EHS audit processes

III, NATURE AND SCOPE

 

• Description – Power Element OHTL of NEOM Green hydrogen Project is erection and installation of 300+ km of Overhead Transmission lines with multiple Sub-stations and Transformers to provide power to Green Hydrogen Facility.
• Description: Power Element Wind of NEOM Green Hydrogen Project is erection and installation of 250+ Wind Turbines over a 200 km2, pooling substation and civil works activities. These will be to provide power for the Green Hydrogen Facility.
• Description: Power Element Solar of NEOM Green Hydrogen Project is erection and installation of solar panels (5.6 million), Inverters (766) and pooling stations (3). The area of the solar facility is 46.31 m2.
• Project Location: NEOM, Northwest of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

IV. DIMENSIONS:

•  Client: Neom Green Hydrogen Company (NGHC), a joint venture of AIR PRODUCTS, ACWA and NEOM
• Project Duration: Approx. 36 months (start in 8/2022)
• Number of individuals working on site: at peak 5.000 to 6.000

V. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

This position is accountable for the following end results:

 

1. Support the full implementation of the project EH&S Plan
2. Actively promote the development of a ‘Total Safety Culture’ and provide support during the implementation of all related (leadership) activities
3. CM/EPC responsibilities for Contractor(s) performing activities in area of responsibility
4. Demonstrate strong leadership at all times throughout the project phases
5. Act as a coach, both for the assigned EH&S team and for Contractors
6. Coordinate with Contractors to ensure Approval to Mobilize and HAZIDs work activities in accountable area are completed in a timely manner
7. Ensure Contractors EH&S programs and safe work practices are reviewed and monitored on an ongoing basis
8. Review and comment on Risk Assessments, Job Safety Analysis and Method Statements for all work activities in the accountable area to ensure accuracy and validity of the same.
9. Ensure EH&S information/expertise is provided to the site team when solicited to ensure compliance to AIR PRODUCTS standards and local laws
10. Actively participate in and lead safety promotion events, campaigns, competitions, established programs
11. Provide leadership to ensure prompt prioritization and coordination of all unforeseen issues at the site, escalating to the AIR PRODUCTS EH&S Manager / Area Construction Manager as required
12. Support the implementation of the Project Emergency Response Plan and review Rescue Plans within accountable area
13. Cooperate closely with area construction management, project security manager, medical team and contractor organizations

• Possess driving license
