DescriptionIntara Talent SolutionsFull-time Remote EmployeeWe are now seeking a Senior Examiner to join our team. In this role, the Senior Examiner will assist in completing comprehensive examinations conducted in accordance with the procedures and processes developed by the National Association of Insurance Commissioners’ (NAIC) Market Regulation Handbook (MRH), Examination Resources, LLC (ER), and contracting states, as applicable. Examinations are performed on behalf of various state insurance departments. Maintains strict confidentiality and security of the personal health information contained in the data sources. Conduct reviews of insurance company practices to determine compliance with state requirements and internal company processes and procedures. Perform reviews of examination work papers and evaluate insurance company operations. Assist with the preparation of reports that detail a company’s compliance with laws and regulations. Responsible for timely submission of draft reports for supervisory review. Provide knowledge and guidance of insurance laws, rules, and regulations. Review and analyze new, proposed, or revised laws, regulations, policies, and procedures to interpret their meaning and determine impact to the company. Consistently enhance knowledge of principles, practices, techniques, and methods of insurance examination and regulation; insurance laws and Insurance Commissioner’s rulings; insurance company practices; statistical sampling procedures; and principles and practice of effective supervision. Analyze data through the use of ACL in order to select samples, extract information and create reports, as applicable to the examination/project. Obtain continuing education, as required, for all credentials and designations. Ability to adapt to frequently changing priorities. Performs ad hoc tasks/duties as assigned. Exercises appropriate discretion and independent judgment relating to company policies and practices in an effective, consistent and professional manner. Adheres to applicable policies and procedures ensuring commitment to quality, compliance and security to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of sensitive data and information. Requirements Bachelor’s degree and 7 years of experience, or Associate’s degree and 9 years of experience, or Highschool diploma and 11 years’ experience. Shall be certified by the Insurance Regulatory Examiners Society (IRES) as eligible to hold the designation of Accredited Insurance Examiner (AIE) or Certified Insurance Examiner (CIE). 3+ years regulatory or compliance experience. Ability to adapt to frequently changing priorities. Strong interpersonal, presentation, analytical and examination/audit skills. Strong knowledge of and experience in Health Lines of Business, with an emphasis in the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and the Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act (MHPAEA). Skilled in MS Office 2016 software or higher version: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook; as well as Adobe Acrobat PDF. Must be a team player. In-depth knowledge of standards and processes in the NAIC’s Market Regulation Handbook. AIE or CIE designation. Extensive experience with examination software TeamMate.
