Job Description
- DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide comprehensive and diligent medical care to all assigned patients, including post-operative care and such emergency procedures within incumbent’s competence including, but not limited to the following:
- Cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
- Maintenance of the airway including tracheal intubation and mechanical ventilation.
- Placement of intravascular catheters and monitoring devices.
- Central venous catheters/ Arterial catheters.
- Temporary dialysis catheters.
- Tube thoracostomy & Therapeutic bronchoscopy but under the supervision of the consultant.
- Percutaneous tracheostomy.
- Renal replacement therapy.
- Provide supervision to residents / trainees when filling-in request and follow up of results of laboratory and related diagnostic examinations.
- Ensure that admission notes for all new patients include differential diagnosis, and possible lines of investigations are available.
- Provides the highest quality of medical care for the patients for whom she/he is responsible.
- Performing daily round for the inpatients, registering his medical notes in the patient’s medical record about the cases and stating the status of the patient’s condition.
- Keep informed to current developments in the field of critical care medicine and participates in discussions, lectures and in-service training.
- Receive consultations from other departments for critical care and responds to them. Assesses, reassesses and reviews patients in ER and wards for expert opinion.
- Respects the patient rights according to the hospital policy and inform him about his responsibilities when needed.
- Comply with the standards laid down by the approved CBAHI & JCI accreditation & standards and perform the duties necessary to support and achieve accreditation.
- Through chain of command and/or occurrence variance report, identifies any occurrence not consistent with the operation of the hospital or Standards of service for patients, employees or visitors and situation that put the patient, staffs, or visitors at risk of injury or other harm.
- Performs other applicable tasks and duties assigned within the realm of the employee’s knowledge, managerial and leadership skills and abilities
Skills
- EDUCATION/LICENSURE:
- Graduate of an accredited School of Medicine.
- Saudi Board, Arab Board or equivalent degree recognized by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS).
- Maintains a valid Saudi Commission for Health Specialties license (SCFHS) as ICU Senior Registrar/Registrar.
- PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience as a full time resident practicing ICU procedure.
- SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE:
- Must be emotionally stable and in good physical health.
- Working knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint Presentations, Outlook and Word.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Ability to speak and write clearly and concisely in both Arabic and English.
- Essential Ability to lead and control multi-culture and multinational staff.
