Job Description
As an E-commerce Data Analyst with a focus on Google Analytics and BigQuery, you will play a pivotal role in leveraging large-scale data sets to extract valuable insights and drive data-informed decision-making for our ecommerce operations. You will be responsible for analyzing e-commerce data stored in Google BigQuery, integrating it with Google Analytics data, and utilizing advanced analytics techniques to optimize website performance, marketing campaigns, and overall business strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
1.Data Extraction and Transformation:
- Extract ecommerce data from Google Analytics and other sources and load it into Google BigQuery for analysis.
- Develop and maintain ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) pipelines to cleanse, transform, and structure raw data for analysis and reporting purposes.
2.Advanced Analytics and Modelling:
- Apply advanced statistical techniques, machine learning algorithms, and predictive modeling to analyze ecommerce data and identify actionable insights.
- Build predictive models for forecasting sales, customer behaviour, and other key performance indicators (KPIs) to support strategic decision-making.
3.Query Optimization and Performance Tuning:
- Write and optimize SQL queries in Google BigQuery to efficiently retrieve and manipulate large-scale datasets.
- Implement best practices for query performance tuning, partitioning, and clustering to maximize query speed and minimize cost.
4.Custom Reporting and Visualization:
- Create custom reports, dashboards, and visualizations using tools such as Google Data Studio, Tableau, or Looker to communicate insights and KPIs to stakeholders.
- Design interactive dashboards with drill-down capabilities to enable self-service exploration of ecommerce data.
5.Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product management, and IT, to understand business requirements and deliver data-driven solutions.
- Partner with data engineers and developers to ensure data integration, governance, and security standards are met within the BigQuery environment.
6.Continuous Improvement and Innovation:
- Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in ecommerce analytics and data management.
- Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and innovation to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of ecommerce analytics initiatives.
Skills
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field. (Master’s degree preferred)
- 3 years of experience in ecommerce analytics, data analysis, or business intelligence, with a strong focus on Google Analytics and BigQuery.
- Proficiency in SQL and experience with querying and manipulating large datasets in Google BigQuery or similar cloud-based data warehouses.
- Hands-on experience with data visualization tools such as Google Data Studio, Tableau, or Looker for creating interactive dashboards and reports.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into actionable insights and data-driven recommendations.
- Familiarity with machine learning techniques, predictive modeling, and statistical analysis tools/languages (e.g., Python, R) for advanced analytics.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Proven track record of driving business impact through data-driven decision-making and analytics-driven optimizations in an ecommerce environment.
