Our client isu00a0a national diversified general contractor and one of Nigeria’s largest private construction groups. They are now seeking to recruit an amazing ‘Accounting Manager’u00a0at their premises in Lagos, Nigeria.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

u00b7 Oversees Accounting department.

u00b7 Oversees the system of internal controls over accounting functions to minimize risk.

Duties/Responsibilities:

u00b7 Maintain, analyze and reconcile general ledger accounts as necessary.

u00b7 Prepare and/or review appropriate ledger entries .

u00b7 Ensure all accounting entries are being posted to the appropriate GL account .

u00b7 Reconcile sub-ledger ( AR , AP, FA, Inventory) to general ledger account balances

u00b7 Maintain and reconcile fixed assets schedules and run monthly depreciation.

u00b7 Routinely audits workflow to assure all accounting transactions are appropriately authorized.

u00b7 Reconciling payroll accounts and overseeing the processing of state and federal payroll taxes.

u00b7 Maintains the Petty Cash float at HO .

u00b7 Ensure that all necessary documents are requested, collected, and compiled.

u00b7 Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures.

u00b7 Monitor accountants, and bookkeepers.

u00b7 Assist the Group Financial Controller in the monthly and year end closing process.

u00b7 Work with the Group Financial Controller to ensure correct and timely reporting at year end and provide required statements and information for the annual audit.

u00b7 Performs other related duties as assigned.

u00b7 Report directly to the Group Financial Controller.

Skills

Bachelors degree in accounting.

u00b7 Five years or more of accounting experience required.

u00b7 Consistent, accurate and pays strict attention to detail

u00b7 Excellent supervisory skills.

u00b7 Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

u00b7 Excellent organizational and time management skills.

u00b7 Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.

u00b7 Strong aptitude for numbers, spreadsheets, and financial reportsu00a0
