Job Description:**Subject: Opportunity: WordPress Backend Developer – Remote, Full-Time**
We are currently seeking a highly skilled and meticulous WordPress Backend Developer to contribute to our team. The successful applicant will possess a comprehensive understanding of backend web development principles, WordPress architecture, and a demonstrated commitment to constructing efficient, scalable, and secure web solutions. This individual will collaborate effectively with front-end developers, designers, and project managers to ensure the delivery of superior WordPress-based applications. The position is remote, full-time (9:00 AM – 5:00 PM EST), and requires a minimum of four years of relevant experience.
**Responsibilities:**
* Develop, maintain, and improve custom WordPress themes and plugins.
* Design and implement new features and functionalities according to specified project requirements.
* Optimize website performance for speed and scalability.
* Debug and resolve technical issues pertaining to WordPress backend development.
* Integrate third-party APIs and related tools within WordPress platforms.
* Maintain the security of WordPress sites through adherence to industry best practices and proactive vulnerability mitigation.
* Collaborate with front-end developers to ensure a cohesive and optimal user experience.
* Execute regular updates to the WordPress core, plugins, and themes, ensuring continued compatibility.
* Manage database configurations and optimize queries for enhanced performance.
Skills:
Qualifications and Skills:
- Proven experience as a Backend WordPress Developer or similar role.
- Proficiency in PHP, MySQL, and WordPress development standards.
- Strong knowledge of WordPress CMS architecture and custom development.
- Experience with RESTful APIs and integration of external services.
- Familiarity with version control systems such as Git.
- Understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript is a plus.
- Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills.
- Knowledge of best practices in web performance optimization and security.
- Experience with custom post types, taxonomies, and WordPress hooks/actions/filters.
- Ability to work in a collaborative environment and manage time effectively.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with WooCommerce or other WordPress-based eCommerce solutions.
- Familiarity with hosting environments and server configurations.
- Knowledge of advanced WordPress concepts like multisite and headless WordPress.
