Job Description:**Testing and Commissioning Engineer**
**Location:** Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
Linxon, a synergy of AtkinsRéalis project management expertise and Hitachi Energy’s technological prowess, specializing in substation solutions, seeks a highly qualified Testing and Commissioning (T&C) Engineer.
**Responsibilities:**
The T&C Engineer assumes comprehensive responsibility for substation testing and commissioning activities. This encompasses the preparation and submission of commissioning documentation for client approval, meticulous adherence to the commissioning schedule to meet project objectives, effective coordination with the client on-site, and the creation of all requisite weekly/monthly documentation and reports mandated by the client and Linxon. The role also involves the successful handover of projects to the client, ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, and quality standards, thereby maximizing Linxon’s return on investment.
Specific duties include:
* Performing testing and commissioning of MV, HV, and EHV substations.
* Executing T&C procedures on substation components (CT, VT, CB, etc.).
* Conducting T&C of diverse schemes (Switchgear, GIS, and Protection Schemes).
* Testing protection relays from various manufacturers (ABB, Siemens, Alstom, SEL, GE, etc.).
* Leveraging experience with Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) projects, demonstrating a thorough understanding of SEC T&C procedures.
* Performing comprehensive stability tests (Busbar, Transformers, Shunt Reactors, OHTL, UGC).
* Managing outage procedures related to planned shutdowns, ensuring comprehensive isolation protocols.
* Acting as the primary customer interface for assigned projects, ensuring the client’s voice is heard and expectations are consistently exceeded.
* Conducting regular meetings with clients, stakeholders, and project managers to provide detailed project progress reports.
* Liaising with clients to cultivate and maintain strong working relationships.
* Ensuring rigorous implementation of Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) standards, aligning with Linxon’s and the customer’s governance and requirements.
* Upholding the highest quality standards throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring the development and implementation of robust project quality plans.
**Qualifications:**
* A minimum of five years of relevant experience in the field of testing and commissioning.
* Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
* Demonstrated experience in developing project requirements and project plans within the construction industry, preferably on large, multi-million-dollar projects.
* Expertise in Protection, GIS, and Switchgear design, with the ability to review and provide comprehensive feedback on T&C documentation, ensuring compliance with contractual tender and project requirements.
* Proficiency in resolving disputes and effectively communicating decisions to clients, subcontractors, and management personnel.
* Significant site coordination experience for T&C activities, primarily within the substation business.
* Expertise in performing diverse substation T&C activities, including scheme checks, protection relay testing, open loop testing, closed loop testing, and all types of stability testing.
