**Role Overview**

The Technical Project Engineer is responsible for coordinating all post-order engineering activities, encompassing the design, development, and control of electrical systems for customer projects. Eaton’s projects encompass a comprehensive range of power distribution elements, from low to medium voltage systems, Uninterrupted Power Supplies (UPS), and automation solutions such as Energy Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS) and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems.

This role ensures the technical clarification of interfaces between customer stakeholders, including technical consultants, construction teams, and engineering teams, and internal stakeholders, such as production engineering teams, supplier engineering departments, and software development teams. Furthermore, the role provides support to application engineering teams during pre-order technical engagements as required.

Projects primarily involve data centers, Transmission & Distribution (T&D) utilities, and oil and gas applications, but may extend to other large-scale, complex projects necessitating system integration.

As an integral member of the customer project execution team, the Technical Project Engineer primarily operates in an office setting, while also travelling as necessary to supplier locations, Eaton manufacturing facilities, and client offices and construction sites during both pre-order and post-order phases.

The role necessitates an experienced, composed, and highly motivated Electrical Engineer who can effectively communicate and collaborate with a diverse array of stakeholders in a dynamic environment, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of all project electrical requirements. The incumbent must adhere to specifications and liaise with engineering consultants, general contractors, subcontractors, and clients. Any technical deviations or scope increments must be promptly reported to the respective project managers for coordination with the customer prior to implementation.

**Key Responsibilities**

* Manage the technical scope of projects, including but not limited to Common Data Environment (CDE) review and coordination with all relevant internal and external stakeholders from sales handover to project closeout.
* Ensure technical alignment across projects and facilitate coordination with customers.
* Support Project Managers in mitigating technical risks by facilitating the rapid dissemination of lessons learned and coordinating approaches for maximum effectiveness.
* Analyze technical drawings, interpret specifications, and determine the electrical requirements for projects.
* Coordinate and liaise with Eaton engineers (Application Engineers, Product Engineers, Power System Engineers, Commissioning Team (Cx), Quality Engineers) and client stakeholders to ensure overall project execution.
* Provide and manage technical documentation, including Single Line Diagrams (SLD), layouts, site methods, and commissioning processes and sequences for all required projects.
* Manage and monitor all assigned electrical projects to ensure timely delivery of documentation.
* Ensure adherence to all health and safety codes.
* Conduct quality assurance checks on electrical components and projects, and prepare reports.
* Support Root Cause Analysis (RCA) in the event of quality incidents.
* Undertake site assignments for short durations, as required, based on project execution progress.

**Qualifications**

* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
* Minimum of five (5) years of experience in electrical design from a systems perspective (MV/LV).
* Minimum of five (5) years of experience in customer project management.
* Minimum of five (5) years of experience in data center construction projects (preferred).
* Experience with UPS/MV commissioning (preferred).

**Skills**

* Proficiency in electrical and system engineering with comprehensive power distribution knowledge.
* Fundamental knowledge of electrical calculations.
* Proficiency in CAD software.
* Demonstrated ability to draft technical specifications and procedures.
* Proficiency in project management and technical coordination.
* Familiarity with construction site constraints related to UPS and MV systems, including commissioning activities (preferred).
* Knowledge of automation systems (preferred).
* Familiarity with data center environments (preferred).
* Strong collaborative team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
* Comfortable delivering technical presentations to peers, customers, and leadership regarding technical issues.
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to identify and resolve problems.
