Job Description:The incumbent is responsible for the effective direction and management of all technical office activities, ensuring alignment with contractual obligations, project baselines, and specified requirements. This encompasses resource planning and task assignment for the technical team, along with continuous monitoring and control of their performance. The incumbent also oversees the preparation and review of internal and external shop drawings, establishing priorities based on site conditions, cost considerations, and project baselines. A further responsibility includes reviewing tender documents, raising necessary queries to the tender department, and maintaining communication with senior management regarding overall project technical progress. The incumbent facilitates information flow to the technical team through effective communication with clients, consultants, and subcontractors. Contractual claims are substantiated to the contract team to enable appropriate communication with the client. The incumbent represents the technical department at weekly progress meetings, reporting on progress and raising any technical concerns. Invoices (Owner/Subcontractors) originating from the site are reviewed to ensure compliance with the project plan and contract terms. Discrepancies or deviations from previously agreed contract terms are immediately reported. The incumbent coordinates between different disciplines on drawings to resolve conflicts and discrepancies, and to address client requirements through the issuance of Requests for Information (RFIs). Quantity surveys for upcoming and existing projects are supervised to verify consistency with tendering documents and contract terms. Site Purchasing Requests are reviewed to ensure the accuracy of material quantities required for the project. The incumbent acts as a liaison between procurement and the consultant to obtain final material and sample approvals. Projected Purchasing Requests are forecasted in collaboration with the Project Manager and submitted to the purchasing team according to the planned schedule. Finally, the incumbent approves monthly/weekly reports from the site before submission to the Operations Sector.
Skills:
- Minimum of 12 year of experience in a technical office or engineering management role within the construction industry.
- Proven ability to manage technical office operations for large-scale construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry standards.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills.
- Ability to interpret and review technical drawings and specifications.
- Proficiency in relevant engineering and project management software.
- Exceptional communication and leadership abilities.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work onsite in the North Coast region as required.
- Very good in English; Arabic language skills are an advantage.
