The responsibilities encompass maintaining precise inventory records, optimizing stock levels for diverse items, and managing storage facilities. Procurement duties include initiating purchase orders, overseeing their management, and ensuring the punctual delivery of supplies. Continuous monitoring of stock levels is required to detect and rectify discrepancies, alongside the implementation of stock rotation protocols to minimize spoilage and obsolescence. Collaboration with interdepartmental stakeholders (e.g., pharmacy, nursing) is essential to ascertain their needs and guarantee appropriate inventory levels. Generation of stock level reports, identification of trends, and provision of analytical insights to management are critical. Strict adherence to hospital policies, procedures, and pertinent inventory management regulations is mandatory. Furthermore, the role involves conducting routine cycle counts, participating in comprehensive stock audits, eliminating slow-moving and redundant stock through constant communication with doctors, nursing staff, pharmacy, and other stock controllers in the group, Co-ordinating expiry dates checks regularly throughout the hospital, measuring and evaluating stock activity levels for re-ordering purposes, and engaging regularly with Unit Managers and/or Billing Auditors to identify any gaps in stock movement, determine and follow up on the action plan to close off these gaps.
Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance.
- 2-3 years of experience in hospitals is a MUST.
- Advanced user of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.
