Job Description:**Job Description**
The Assistant Stage Manager (ASM) is accountable for directing Team Leaders and all subordinate personnel, ensuring the team executes its responsibilities to the highest standards while fostering a positive and engaging work environment. This role facilitates the seamless operation of the Entertainment department, as required. The ASM collaborates with department members and company stakeholders as an active participant in achieving artistic objectives, upholding consistent quality, and guaranteeing exemplary performance from supervised colleagues. During events and activations, the ASM relays cues to backstage crews, monitors performers pre- and during performances, and communicates relevant information to the line manager to enable informed decision-making.
The responsibilities encompass:
* Managing and guiding Team Leaders and their respective front-line colleagues, including job training, attendance monitoring, adherence to grooming standards, coaching, performance appraisals, and personal development planning.
* Overseeing duty schedules within their area to ensure that annual leave plans support operational readiness and provide colleagues with adequate time off.
* Coordinating and supervising character appearances and roaming entertainment both within the parks and at external events.
* Collaborating with the line manager on production and installation schedules for in-park events and activations.
* Coordinating with procurement and third-party vendors.
* Supervising décor installation and dismantling for events, based on the Scope of Work and event deck specifications.
* Managing the execution of all Entertainment live show offerings.
* Ensuring that Team Leaders prepare and circulate show reports, as needed.
* Providing notes to animators, cast, and crew during show runs.
* Liaising with the Maintenance department to resolve technical issues and ensuring timely resolution.
* Working closely with production and technical teams to ensure accurate dissemination of show-related information.
* Overseeing the maintenance of character costumes.
* Conducting daily briefings with the department.
* Assisting with other shows within the department, as needed.
* Planning, scheduling, and delivering on- and off-the-job training programs to ensure optimal service standards and colleague development.
* Communicating pertinent and useful information through various channels, including department meetings and briefings.
* Motivating colleagues through the effective implementation of incentive, recognition, and reward programs.
* Ensuring departmental policies, procedures, and performance standards are implemented and maintained throughout their area.
* Reviewing departmental policies, procedures, and performance standards to ensure they are current and accurate, and recommending revisions as appropriate to optimize customer service.
* Ensuring service delivery defects are resolved, identifying trends, and sharing observations and recommendations with the manager.
* Verifying the accuracy of checklists and records completed within their area.
* Ensuring targets set by the departmental manager are met within their area through diligent tracking.
* Assisting with logistical arrangements for auditioning new Entertainment colleagues.
* Ensuring Key Performance Indicators (KPI) targets are met and tracking results.
* Tracking and recording all external requests fulfilled by Entertainment.
* Pursuing personal and professional development of skillsets and disseminating knowledge to the team.
**Required Qualifications:**
* Higher secondary education or equivalent.
* A minimum of one year of experience in a leadership role and two years of experience within the entertainment industry.
* Demonstrated leadership capabilities.
* Proficiency in problem-solving.
* The ability to manage a team and provide coverage for the Head of Department, when necessary.
* Discretion and sensitivity in handling confidential information.
* The ability to perform effectively under pressure.
* A keen attention to detail.
* A proactive and flexible attitude, with the ability to effectively prioritize tasks.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Knowledge of current Health and Safety guidelines.
* Proficiency in computer applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
**Desired Qualifications:**
* Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts.
* Three years of stage management experience and/or five years of performance experience.
* Certification in fire safety.
* Certification in first aid.
* Prior experience in stage management.
* Technical background in Kronos time and attendance system.
* Experience with Oracle.
* Knowledge of lighting and AV systems.
