As a member of Cisco’s EMEA Internet & Mass-Scale Infrastructure team, the successful candidate will collaborate with account teams, fellow engineers, and clients to define and deliver innovative solutions that establish benchmarks for assurance, automation, switching, routing, optical technologies, and Software-Defined Networking (SDN). This individual will serve as a trusted advisor to clients and a source of thought leadership within the industry, thereby contributing to Cisco’s prominence in the service provider market. The incumbent will function as a technical leader and subject matter expert, spearheading the design and implementation of groundbreaking, AI-ready, software-defined infrastructures that enable next-generation service provider networks. Responsibilities include guiding Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Proofs of Concept (PoCs), and architectural designs, ensuring alignment with client objectives and industry trends. Furthermore, this role entails leading cross-functional engineering efforts, providing consultative support and expertise to clients in strategic accounts. The incumbent’s influence will extend beyond individual accounts, as they will contribute to shaping Cisco’s product strategy by advocating for field and client needs with Development teams. Effective management of client expectations, ensuring alignment with product and solution capabilities, and continuous promotion of thought leadership within the networking and service provider industries are also key aspects of this position.
**Qualifications:**
The ideal candidate will possess extensive technical leadership experience and in-depth expertise in networking and automation. They should be equally adept at technical execution and client interaction, confidently engaging at both technical and business levels. Exceptional architectural design skills, coupled with hands-on implementation expertise to deliver transformative solutions, are essential. A forward-thinking mindset is crucial, enabling the candidate to influence both clients and the broader industry through thought leadership, speaking engagements, and innovative solution design.
**Minimum Requirements:**
* Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.
* Minimum of 10 years of experience in assurance, automation, and networking, including consulting, service implementation, and operational expertise.
* Comprehensive knowledge of networking technologies and protocols, including routing, switching, MEF, L2/L3, SRv6, MPLS, BNG, VxLAN, and EVPN.
* Knowledge of technology domains such as Machine Learning/Artificial Intelligence (ML/AI), SDN, SD-WAN, 5G, and Cloud technologies.
* Demonstrated strong focus on customer service and the ability to establish and maintain robust relationships throughout the sales cycle.
* Proficiency in English and Arabic languages.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
* Cisco assurance (PCA), Network Automation portfolio e.g. Cisco Crosswork.
* Basic understanding of network programmability (NETCONF/YANG, REST, JSON, Network telemetry).
* Strong understanding of AI/ML concepts, techniques & infrastructure (learning models, LLM, GenAI, AGI, NLP, neural networks, deep learning, AI Frameworks, GPU and DPU).
* Proficiency with automation tool sets (Ansible, Terraform, ROBOT) with a strong focus on DC switching and compute.
* Proven experience in guiding complex RFPs, PoCs, and architectural designs for large-scale service providers.
* Solid knowledge of Network Automation and Assurance solutions and positioning, including competitive landscape.
* Extensive knowledge of customer networks, current challenges, and the ability to act as a consultant and guide customers, particularly Service Providers, Large Enterprises, and/or Public Sector clients.
* Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.
* Scripting experience (Python, Perl, TCL, shell programming).
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively articulate technology and product positioning to both business and technical audiences.
* Ability to maintain a functional home office and potential for occasional travel.
* Cisco certifications such as CCNP, CCDP, or CCIE are highly regarded.
