Senior System Engineer

– Install, configure, and maintain Windows and Linux operating systems and software applications.
– Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize system resources.
– Manage virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
– Oversee network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
– Configure and manage network security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and access controls.
– Monitor and optimize network performance and connectivity.
– Implement and maintain security policies and procedures.
– Conduct regular system audits and vulnerability assessments to ensure compliance with security standards.
– Manage antivirus and malware protection software.
– Develop and maintain backup and recovery procedures to safeguard data integrity.
– Test disaster recovery plans and ensure rapid restoration of services in the event of a failure.
– Manage user accounts, permissions, and authentication mechanisms.
– Provide technical support and training to users as needed.
– Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for systems, processes, and procedures.
– Prepare reports on system performance, incidents, and resolutions.
– Work with cross-functional teams to support IT projects and initiatives.
– Provide mentorship and guidance to junior system administrators/Helpdesk engineers and IT staff.
