About the role

The Senior Mechanical Engineer is responsible for leading the design, implementation, and management
of mechanical systems in high-rise building construction projects. This role involves ensuring that all mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection, meet design specifications, safety standards, and project timelines. The Senior Mechanical Engineer provides technical expertise, oversees project execution, and ensures seamless collaboration with other engineering disciplines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop detailed designs for HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
  • Review and approve mechanical drawings, materials, and technical documents.
  • Ensure compliance with project requirements, industry standards, and regulations.
  • Work with architects and engineers to integrate mechanical systems.
  • Guide project teams and contractors during installation and commissioning.
  • Monitor project progress and address design or execution challenges.
  • Inspect installations to ensure adherence to designs and quality standards.
  • Identify and resolve non-conformances with corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.
  • Assist in budgeting and cost estimation for mechanical systems.
  • Optimize resources for cost-efficiency without compromising quality.
  • Coordinate procurement of mechanical materials and equipment.
  • Oversee system testing and commissioning for proper functionality.
  • Resolve issues identified during commissioning.
  • Prepare commissioning reports and as-built documentation.
  • Maintain records of designs, inspections, and modifications.
  • Submit progress reports detailing challenges, solutions, and milestones.
  • Contribute to technical manuals and maintenance guidelines.

Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master’s degree is a plus).
  • 8-10 years in mechanical engineering, focusing on construction projects.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent preferred.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Autodesk, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, materials, and installation techniques.
  • Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies.
  • Leadership and mentoring abilities.
