Job Description:**Responsibilities:**
The incumbent will be responsible for the following:
* **Leadership and Supervision:** Provide leadership, supervision, and mentorship to a team of sponsored programs staff. This includes the development and implementation of efficient processes for proposal submissions, award processing, and compliance adherence. Furthermore, the incumbent will collaborate with faculty, departments, and administrative staff to streamline sponsored research activities.
* **Post-Award Management:** Oversee post-award administration, encompassing contract negotiation, award management, and the diligent monitoring of compliance with sponsor terms and conditions.
* **Stakeholder Engagement:** Cultivate and maintain a robust industry awareness and network, demonstrating familiarity with relevant sectors and establishing professional connections across diverse organizations, including corporations, NGOs, research institutions, and development agencies focused on sustainable development and community advancement. This involves identifying and engaging with external stakeholders such as grants agencies, government bodies, community organizations, academic institutions, and industry groups. The incumbent will represent the university at relevant events, conferences, and meetings to offer insights, solicit feedback, and address stakeholder concerns. Responsibilities also include the creation of a comprehensive university profile for platforms such as SAM and UNIDO, conducting meetings with faculty to ascertain their needs and address submission deficiencies, and fostering international collaborations, with a preference for experience in African regions and sectors such as banking, finance, or international development.
* **Training and Development:** Develop and deliver training programs on grants management, compliance protocols, and the submission process. Foster a culture of research integrity by providing comprehensive resources to ensure that faculty and staff are well-equipped to effectively manage sponsored programs.
* **Reporting and Presentation:** Generate analytical reports and presentations for senior management, providing insights into sponsored programs activities and outcomes.
Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in business major or any related field.
- Master’s degree in a related field is a plus.
- Excellent English proficiency (Spoken & Written).
- Excellent proficiency of MS office package.
