The incumbent is responsible for overseeing all routine and non-routine activities within the plant, ensuring employee adherence to established safety protocols. Responsibilities include determining appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements for various tasks, conducting regular inspections of alarm and firefighting systems to guarantee operational readiness, and generating daily, weekly, and monthly Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) reports. The individual will develop and implement monthly EHS training programs for all departments and conduct EHS orientation sessions for new employees. Furthermore, the role involves conducting periodic safety audits of the plant to identify potential hazards, monitoring regulatory updates to ensure legal compliance, and participating in risk assessments to develop and maintain action plans. The incumbent will also oversee contractor activities, including work permits and performance evaluations, and collaborate with departments to manage the Corrective and Preventative Action (CAPA) tracking system. Participation in accident investigations to determine root causes and implement corrective measures is also expected, as is involvement in the development and implementation of Safe Work Practices (SWP). The individual will contribute to continuous improvement in EHS performance, analyze chemical Safety Data Sheets (SDS) to establish proper handling and storage procedures, develop emergency response plans, and coordinate evacuation drills. The role encompasses any additional tasks assigned by the direct supervisor that align with the core purpose of the position, as well as participation in the development of the factory’s environmental system and conducting periodic environmental measurements.
