**Position:** Senior Engineer, Inspection

**Overall Objective**

The primary objective of this position is to enhance technology application and integration within a specific area of expertise or a portfolio of projects. The incumbent is expected to operate autonomously, demonstrating sound judgment in seeking assistance when necessary. (Operating level: Execution)

**Key Responsibilities**

The Senior Engineer, Inspection, will be responsible for the following:

* **Results Orientation:** Achieving tangible outcomes through individual contributions, influence, and expertise.
* **Operational/Functional Excellence:** Consistently delivering high-quality solutions that contribute to business objectives and enhanced competitiveness through consulting advice and strategic options. Ensuring solutions/services are delivered cost-effectively, on schedule, and within established risk parameters. Providing expert advice that is widely accepted and effectively implemented across programs and systems, creating a competitive advantage and driving quality results. Continuously developing extensive knowledge in the relevant field and mastering the application of technical skills. Delivering cost-effective outcomes and meeting established risk and HSE targets. Conducting research and development to implement innovative solutions within the organization. Independently resolving complex problems within a team environment involving multiple stakeholders.
* **Stakeholder Management:** Identifying stakeholder needs to define specific technical requirements. Translating stakeholder needs and desires into concrete technical deliverables (with guidance). Generating innovative ideas within a team context with tactical impact. Analyzing work processes and implementing improvements to enhance the team’s technical performance. Contributing to the development and definition of quality standards, specifications, and technical requirements. Ensuring the quality of technical deliverables through rigorous review and sign-off processes. Making informed decisions to optimize total cost of ownership, balancing cost, schedule, and quality according to risk levels. Reviewing, developing, and applying policies, procedures, and methods with appropriate discretion. Supervising and evaluating the technical work of peers and contractors.
* **Continuous Improvement & Innovation:** Continuously researching advanced techniques to develop expertise within the company, making and implementing suggestions for operational improvement (optimizing equipment, systems, and processes). Leading Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Process Hazard Analysis (PHA), Risk Assessments (RA), and establishing Project Management (PM) schedules/procedures/Standard Work Instructions (SWIs)/inspection reports.
* **Communication & Reporting:** Providing essential information to internal and external stakeholders. Ensuring all required reporting meets established standards and is completed and distributed in a timely manner.
* **Leadership & Mentorship:** Understanding, supporting, and embodying the company’s vision, values, and goals. Effectively leveraging expertise and securing support for value-adding ideas that drive business improvement. Taking responsibility for personal and professional development, skills enhancement, and overall effectiveness. Facilitating expertise transfer, sharing, and development. Establishing, reviewing, and developing policies, practices, standards, procedures, and methods. Delivering expert solutions as a thought leader to address evolving business and work requirements through trend analysis, problem-solving, and quality decision-making. Managing process and risk impact, reporting, and corrective action. Extracting, capturing, and disseminating knowledge within established knowledge management standards. Serving as a high-performance role model, coach, and mentor to junior engineers.
* **Development & Training:** Ensuring continuous personal and professional growth and development. Improving group work processes, facilitating transformation and change initiatives, and fostering continuous improvement. Communicating best practices, technical reports, and position statements to relevant stakeholders. Ensuring staff resources are maximized and that staff members receive appropriate training and development to perform their duties efficiently. Providing direction and serving as a technical reference point and mentor for staff, ensuring work outputs align with strategic and business plans.
* **Health, Safety & Environment (HSE):** Promoting and adhering to all HSE policies and procedures by consistently demonstrating and encouraging safe work practices.
* **Relationship Management:** Building effective stakeholder and expert networking relationships (e.g., customers, suppliers, universities, and specialist bodies). Demonstrating influential relationships with managers, peers, and company business leaders. Managing contractor/consultant relations. Communicating expertise (best practices, technical reports, position statements) in a collaborative and consultative manner to consistently meet business needs. Developing and facilitating the implementation of new solutions within the area of expertise. Participating in and maintaining expert networks. Building credibility and constructive working relationships with teams, managers, and business leaders to enhance the company’s knowledge base. Maintaining healthy and stable relations with contractors, consultants, and management. Creating and maintaining well-developed internal and external networks. Liaising with external engineering companies to share knowledge and benchmark practices.

Masters of Engineering (Specific discipline) +18 months as Engineer
