Job Description:Senior Cost Manager – Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (Remote Project Site) AESG is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Cost Manager to join our cost management team for a project located in a regional area within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This is a remote, project-site based role. The successful candidate will receive competitive compensation, in addition to provided meals and accommodation. As a Senior Cost Manager, you will play a crucial role in supporting project leaders to deliver exceptional service, achieve successful project outcomes for our clients, and further enhance AESG’s reputation as a leading service provider. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical foundation in Quantity Surveying, a comprehensive understanding of diverse design standards, and the ability to effectively communicate cost-related advice to clients, consultants, and contractors. Prior experience working within a dedicated consultancy team, successfully delivering cost management services on large-scale (giga) projects, is essential. Preference will be given to candidates holding or actively pursuing MRICS accreditation, though this is not mandatory for an exceptionally qualified individual. Key Areas of Expertise: Candidates should demonstrate proven experience in cost planning and value engineering within the following sectors: Hotels Residential Civil Works and Infrastructure Roads Job Purpose: The Senior Cost Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day management of AESG Cost Management project delivery and resource management. Qualifications & Experience: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field. Minimum of 8 years of relevant working experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills. Expertise in measurement and CostX software. Strong understanding of construction costs within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. General Expectations: Significant experience and advanced competencies in cost management principles and practices. Ability to work independently on complex tasks and projects. Responsibilities: Providing accurate and timely cost advice and reporting to clients. Successfully delivering projects, commissions, and professional assignments. Maintaining effective communication with all stakeholders to ensure the availability of necessary information for project completion. Liaising with other managers to ensure efficient financial control. Undertaking cost management services with limited supervision. Delivering all work outputs with accuracy and within established deadlines. Providing support to the team leader/service leaders in the cost management of projects. Ensuring effective interaction between the cost management team and operational teams. Performing comprehensive cost management activities, including forecasting. Preparing cost estimates for various project design stages. Monitoring and controlling contract final cost estimates. Reviewing, negotiating, and preparing claim settlements. Preparing Final Accounts with comprehensive supporting documentation. Preparing tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities, in collaboration with the architect and/or client. Responsible for the day-to-day management and optimisation of team operations and performance. Communication/Collaboration: Effective collaboration on projects, sharing insights, and coordinating efforts across departments. High proficiency in spoken and written English. Technical Knowledge/Expertise: Undertaking intricate tasks and projects, applying knowledge to solve practical problems. Demonstrating analytical prowess and the capacity to independently carry out tasks, with a strong commitment to continuous learning and knowledge expansion. Creativity/Innovation: Staying informed about the latest industry technological advancements and contributing to initiatives that foster creativity. Client Focus/Relationship Building: Ability to independently represent the company in client-facing roles and manage client satisfaction. Strategic Vision/Planning: Actively contributing to the larger strategic picture and supporting the development of business opportunities across divisions. Time Management/Planning: Monitoring progress and time taken to complete tasks to ensure on-track completion. Balancing time spent on activities, prioritizing tasks effectively, and forecasting potential issues. Industry Experience/Thought Leadership: Demonstrated industry experience on a wide range of related project types, with a proven ability to efficiently manage project deadlines. Establishing credibility as an emerging thought leader. Project Management/Operational Delivery: Ability to independently manage the delivery of smaller projects in a client-facing role, with strong technical knowledge and experience in executing projects to a high level of independence. Leadership/Team Management Experience: Demonstrable experience in managing small teams on live projects, or mentoring junior team members/graduates. Commercial Acumen/Business Development: Managing commercial aspects of project delivery with support from senior team members, and assisting in the creation and delivery of proposals. Problem Solving/Decision Making: Coordinating tasks and solving specific problems within areas of responsibility, developing advanced problem-solving skills, and making impactful decisions. Employee Focus/Process Compliance: Specializing in roles related to employee-centric practices, actively coordinating efforts to enhance employee experience, and identifying external regulations that impact the organization.
