**Job Description:**
The Senior Cost Estimation Engineer is accountable for the comprehensive preparation of meticulously detailed and accurate cost estimates pertaining to infrastructure and building projects. This position necessitates a thorough understanding of construction methodologies, prevailing pricing dynamics, and established tendering procedures. The incumbent will play a pivotal role during pre-contractual phases, ensuring the formulation of cost-effective and competitive bids, while simultaneously mitigating potential risks and upholding profitability margins.
**Key Responsibilities:**
* Conduct comprehensive analysis of project drawings, specifications, Bills of Quantities (BOQs), and other relevant tender documentation to facilitate precise estimation.
* Develop detailed cost estimates for civil, structural, architectural, and Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) works associated with infrastructure and building projects.
* Spearhead the development of pricing strategies, undertake meticulous quantity take-offs, and conduct thorough resource calculations.
* Solicit and critically evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure the accuracy and validity of cost projections.
* Perform rigorous risk assessments and formulate contingency measures to address potential cost overruns.
* Collaborate effectively with planning, procurement, design, and execution teams to gather essential technical and commercial information.
* Actively participate in value engineering exercises and propose viable alternative cost-saving solutions.
* Provide support for technical and commercial clarifications during tender evaluations and subsequent negotiations.
* Monitor and analyze prevailing market rates and trends concerning construction materials, labor costs, and equipment expenses.
* Prepare final tender submissions, encompassing comprehensive cost summaries, unit rates, and well-defined commercial proposals.
* Maintain and update internal cost databases and estimation tools to facilitate future reference and standardization.
