Job Description:**Senior Accountant – General Responsibilities**

We seek a highly qualified Senior Accountant to provide comprehensive management and financial accounting support for GRFN. This position is responsible for maintaining the integrity of the general ledger, including reconciliations, and fostering strong relationships with external stakeholders. The incumbent will ensure the timely submission and maintenance of all required reports and documentation, while diligently applying relevant accounting standards and procedures to the recording and reporting of GRFN activities.

**Key Responsibilities:**

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for the full spectrum of bookkeeping, accounting, and financial services at GRFN, adhering to the established chart of accounts, general accounting procedures, and data interpretation requirements. Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

* **Bookkeeping:** Managing the company’s financial affairs and general bookkeeping functions; establishing, monitoring, and interpreting data from the accounting system.
* **Human Resources:** Providing accurate information and support related to payroll processing, employee off-boarding (EOS), and purchase ledger administration; managing new employee onboarding, employee loans, part-time/project-based contract payments, and employee benefits (air tickets, bonuses, commissions, etc.).
* **Administration & IT:** Overseeing petty cash management, purchasing and local purchase order (LPO) issuance, reimbursements, subscriptions, and maintenance contracts.
* **Projects:** Managing invoicing processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of progress billings and payments based on owner and subcontractor contract terms; coordinating with Project Managers on invoicing, ensuring proper substantiation, payment follow-up, and timely status updates; tracking payments (received vs. pending); processing project-related reimbursements and expenses; collaborating closely with Project Managers throughout the project lifecycle to ensure proper and timely handling of receivables and payables; and effectively managing project budgets through job setup, budget control, subcontracts, and change orders within the accounting software.
* **Banking:** Managing multiple company bank accounts on a daily basis; overseeing cash flow and bank balances; ensuring banking compliance, including KYC documentation and payment services; tracking payments and bank balances; and facilitating payment releases within established Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
* **Strategic Analysis and Reporting:** Preparing annual and quarterly financial forecasts, reporting on variances, and presenting findings to the Board; developing project-wise costing and Profit & Loss statements based on agreed project terms, timelines, costs, profitability, and overhead allocation; coordinating with external and internal auditors during the audit process; preparing and reconciling monthly, quarterly, and annual Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet reports; preparing and presenting monthly cash flow projections; conducting detailed reviews of the profit and loss account within the company’s accounting system; maintaining standard cost codes; completing month-end and year-end closing procedures; providing accurate, understandable, and timely financial information to support management decisions; and offering general financial advice to the Managing Director, Shareholders, and Managers.
* **Compliance and Tax:** Ensuring accounting processes comply with all applicable laws and regulations; implementing and maintaining internal financial controls and procedures; managing budgeting and forecasting activities; preparing annual statutory accounts and managing annual audits; coordinating audit and tax return processes; and submitting quarterly tax returns and other required regulatory submissions.

Skills:

Knowledge / Education / Academic qualifications: 

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA, CMA, or ACCA certification preferred) with experience from 7 to 10 years. 

Technical Know-how  

ZohoBooks /Books system experience is a plus.  

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret relevant corporate policies management, agreements, customer service contracts, and general contracts for terms.  

Ability to read and interpret contracts, lien releases, and other pertinent relative documents.  

Ability to respond to common inquiries and/or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, members of the business community, peer professionals, and management.  

Knowledge of cost accounting and general accounting.  

Ability to analyze and interpret accounting data and perform quantitative analyses
