Job Title: Screen Printer – Steel Drum ManufacturingJob Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE.Reporting to: Production/Printing Supervisor or Plant ManagerJob SummaryWe are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Screen Printer for our steel drum manufacturing unit. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in preparing screen designs using AutoCAD and CorelDRAW, developing screens, making screen frames, and carrying out accurate screen printing on steel drums.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign & Artwork Preparation:Create and modify screen printing designs using CorelDRAW and AutoCAD as per customer specifications or production requirements.Ensure proper alignment, scaling, and positioning of logos, UN numbers, batch codes, and other required texts on the drums.Screen DevelopmentPrepare screens from artwork including film positives and emulsion coating.Expose, develop, and washout screens with precision to achieve sharp image reproduction.Frame & Screen PreparationAssemble and stretch mesh on frames as per required specifications.Ensure correct mesh type and tension based on the type of printing and drum surface.Printing OperationsPerform screen printing on curved metal surfaces of steel drums (top, side, or bottom).Handle UN logo printing, batch numbers, safety markings, and other drum-specific information.Ensure accurate positioning and quality of print.Quality ControlInspect finished prints for accuracy, sharpness, alignment, and defects.Make necessary corrections to ensure high-quality standards are maintained.MaintenanceClean and maintain screens, tools, and printing equipment regularly.Maintain proper records of designs, screens, and job orders.Required Skills & ExperienceProven experience in screen printing on steel drums or metal surfaces.Proficiency in CorelDRAW and AutoCAD for screen design and layout preparation.Knowledge of screen frame making, mesh selection, and screen exposure techniques.Understanding of inks and their compatibility with steel surfaces.Ability to interpret technical drawings and printing specifications.Strong attention to detail and a good sense of alignment and visual accuracy.Educational QualificationITI / Diploma in Printing Technology or any relevant technical field preferred.Training in graphic design software (CorelDRAW, AutoCAD) is a plus.Preferred ExperienceMinimum 2-4 years of experience in screen printing in a steel drum or metal container manufacturing industry.
