**Job Description: Salesforce Engineering Manager, Commercial Systems at Canonical**

This Engineering Management role presents an opportunity for a skilled technologist with a passion for Linux and Ubuntu to advance their career at Canonical and contribute to the company’s ongoing success. A strong affinity for open-source development will be advantageous in collaborating with industry experts at Canonical.

The Commercial Systems unit oversees multiple areas of responsibility across six engineering teams, collaborating closely with other engineering and business units within Canonical. The services designed, developed, and operated by the Commercial Systems unit are central to Canonical’s business operations, with Salesforce playing an integral role.

The Salesforce team is responsible for the development and configuration of Canonical’s Salesforce instance. The team’s mission is to deliver a best-in-class experience to the Sales and business operations teams who rely on Salesforce, while adhering to the highest engineering standards expected of all Canonical engineering teams.

Canonical seeks an experienced Engineering Manager with senior-level Salesforce engineering expertise who is committed to upholding engineering excellence, driving improvements, continuously developing their skillset, and applying their knowledge effectively. This role provides an opportunity to lead change, leverage the latest Salesforce features and best practices, and implement them effectively, while maintaining a lean and maintainable Salesforce instance.

**Location:** This position is based remotely within the EMEA region.

**Responsibilities:**

* Lead a team of engineers in delivering solutions leveraging the Salesforce platform.
* Identify and implement improvements to existing processes, designs, and engineering solutions.
* Collaborate on business analysis and technical designs.
* Provide Salesforce subject matter expertise to business stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
* Deliver engineering solutions using the Salesforce platform.

**Qualifications:**

* Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science or a related engineering discipline.
* Demonstrated experience with Salesforce development and integrations.
* Proven experience as a hands-on Engineering Manager or Team Lead.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
* Ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse team of remote colleagues and stakeholders, while maintaining high levels of motivation, productivity, and organization in a fully remote environment.
* Willingness to travel internationally for one week at a time, approximately 2-4 times per year. Previous locations have included New York, Seattle, London, Cape Town, Budapest, Berlin, Montreal, and Brussels.

**Desired Skills:**

* Experience as a software developer in a high-level language, preferably Go or Python.
* Experience in a business-related role, such as sales, finance, or operations.
