**Position: Head of Quality Assurance/Quality Control – Renewable Energy (Wind & Solar)**

**Job Summary:**
This organization seeks a highly experienced Head of Quality Assurance/Quality Control to direct and oversee all QA/QC activities for large-scale Wind and Solar energy projects (500MW+) within the GCC region. The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring meticulous adherence to international quality standards, regulatory mandates, and contractual specifications throughout all project phases, encompassing components, materials, and construction processes. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) projects, quality auditing, vendor management, and demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of ISO and IEC standards application within the renewable energy sector.
**Key Responsibilities:**
1. **Quality Management and Compliance:**
* Develop and implement a comprehensive Project Quality Plan (PQP) to ensure full compliance with ISO 9001, relevant IEC standards, and all applicable GCC regulatory requirements.
* Establish and enforce rigorous QA/QC procedures across all project phases, from design inception to final commissioning.
* Guarantee that all materials, components, and construction activities conform to established industry best practices.
2. **Inspection and Testing:**
* Direct and supervise the inspection, testing, and verification processes for materials and equipment to ensure strict adherence to technical specifications.
* Lead Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), and comprehensive commissioning quality checks.
* Coordinate effectively with third-party inspectors, certification agencies, and project consultants to ensure independent quality verification.
3. **Vendor and Contractor Quality Oversight:**
* Establish stringent vendor and subcontractor qualification criteria and conduct thorough quality audits to assess compliance.
* Ensure that EPC contractors, Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), and suppliers consistently meet all project-specific quality requirements.
* Implement robust Non-Conformance Reporting (NCR) procedures and develop and execute corrective action plans.
4. **QA/QC Audits and Documentation:**
* Conduct comprehensive internal and external audits to assess compliance with project specifications and quality standards.
* Maintain meticulous QA/QC documentation, including Inspection Test Plans (ITPs), Quality Reports, and detailed Audit Findings.
* Ensure project quality records are accurately documented and maintained in accordance with established protocols for seamless handover.
5. **Continuous Improvement and Training:**
* Develop and implement proactive quality improvement initiatives to optimize project execution and enhance overall performance.
* Provide targeted training programs to project teams on QA/QC procedures and relevant industry best practices.
* Foster a culture of quality awareness and promote continuous improvement principles throughout the project lifecycle.
**Key Qualifications and Experience:**
* **Education:** Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil) or a closely related field.
* **Experience:**
* Minimum of fifteen (15) years of progressive experience in QA/QC for Renewable Energy (Wind & Solar) EPC projects.
* Demonstrated track record of successfully leading quality management initiatives for utility-scale projects of 500MW+ capacity.
* Comprehensive understanding of ISO 9001, IEC 61400 (Wind), IEC 61215 & 61730 (Solar), and relevant GCC regulatory standards.
* **Skills:**
* Expertise in quality management methodologies, auditing practices, inspection processes, and non-conformance management protocols.
* Demonstrated leadership, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
* Proficiency in utilizing QA/QC software tools and digital quality tracking systems.
* Proven ability to collaborate effectively with multi-disciplinary teams and international vendors.
