Job Description:**R&D & Sourcing Manager – Mivida Skincare**
Mivida Skincare seeks a highly motivated and experienced individual to fill the position of R&D & Sourcing Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading product formulation, identifying and managing suppliers, and ensuring regulatory compliance for our expanding line of natural and high-performance skincare products.
**Key Responsibilities:**
* **Formulation & Product Innovation:** Oversee the formulation and development of skincare products, adhering to Mivida’s clean beauty standards. This includes managing clinical claims, active ingredients, functional performance goals, INCI documentation, SDS files, and testing protocols. Ensure product adherence to hypoallergenic, fragrance-free, and alcohol-free standards.
* **Supplier & Factory Management:** Identify, qualify, and manage external laboratories, manufacturers, and co-packers on a global scale. This includes cost negotiation, production timeline management, MOQ adherence, and quality benchmarking. Conduct onboarding processes, audits, and product trial management with new factories. Monitor performance to ensure timely delivery of goods and samples.
* **Compliance & Market Readiness:** Guarantee that all formulations and packaging comply with US FDA, EU Cosmetic Regulation (EC 1223/2009), and Amazon ingredient compliance standards. Coordinate with testing laboratories to obtain necessary certifications, safety assessments, and documentation for relevant markets. Maintain current knowledge of ingredient regulations, banned substances, and evolving regulatory frameworks. Build and maintain a compliance database, and respond to Consumer Technical Queries.
* **Launch Execution:** Support go-to-market strategies by managing product timelines, sample coordination, and collaboration with content, packaging, and marketing teams. Maintain a product launch tracker encompassing R&D milestones, factory approvals, and shipment readiness. Collaborate with brand and operations teams on packaging formats, sizes, and innovation opportunities.
Skills:
- 4–7+ years experience in cosmetic/skincare product development or R&D roles
- Deep knowledge of cosmetic formulations, raw materials, and active ingredients
- Experience sourcing or working with overseas factories (China, Turkey, Mexico, or Korea preferred)
- Strong understanding of US FDA guidelines, EU cosmetic regulations, and Amazon’s ingredient compliance
- Proven ability to manage multiple vendors, negotiate pricing, and hit production timelines
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced startup or entrepreneurial environment
- Excellent organization and documentation skills (INCI, SDS, CoA, lab testing, etc.)
- Passion for clean beauty, wellness, and consumer health is a must
- Background in Pharmaceutical; dermatology, chemistry, or formulation science
- Familiarity with skincare trends, sustainability practices, and global labeling requirements
