Job Description:The individual will be responsible for the following: preparing comprehensive cost estimates, bills of quantities, and tender documentation for electromechanical and infrastructure projects; monitoring project budgets, tracking expenditures, and providing regular cost reports to project managers and stakeholders; evaluating and negotiating subcontractor and supplier quotations to ensure cost-effectiveness and compliance with project specifications; conducting site visits to assess progress, verify quantities, and ensure alignment with contractual requirements; managing change orders, variations, and claims, ensuring accurate documentation and timely resolution; collaborating with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to optimize project delivery and cost control; reviewing and validating contractor invoices and payment applications, ensuring accuracy and adherence to contractual terms; assisting in the preparation and review of contracts, ensuring all commercial and technical aspects are addressed; identifying potential risks related to cost, contracts, or project scope and recommending mitigation strategies; and maintaining up-to-date records of all quantity surveying activities and supporting project close-out processes.
Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience in Infrastructure is a must.
- 2 to 5 years of proven experience in quantity surveying within the Construction and Infrastructure industry.
- Strong knowledge of electromechanical and infrastructure project requirements.
- Proficiency in cost estimation software and MS Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical and numerical skills with attention to detail.
- Solid understanding of construction contracts, tendering, and procurement processes.
- Effective communication and negotiation abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, office-based environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Commitment to upholding the highest standards of integrity and professionalism.
