The incumbent is responsible for overseeing the reception of agricultural crops from suppliers, ensuring adherence to technical specifications and export quality standards. This includes conducting visual and physical inspections of crops (e.g., oranges, grapes, pomegranates, mangoes, strawberries, potatoes) to assess size, color, ripeness, and the absence of defects or contamination. The incumbent will supervise sorting and packing operations within the packhouse, ensuring compliance with quality and packaging standards required for various export markets (Europe, Gulf region, Asia, etc.). Implementation and monitoring of quality control and food safety programs in accordance with systems such as Global GAP, BRC, and HACCP are also key responsibilities. The incumbent will prepare daily inspection and quality reports, documenting findings and initiating corrective actions as needed. Coordination with relevant departments, including production, cooling, and logistics, is required to maintain a seamless workflow and ensure product integrity. Monitoring storage and cold chain conditions during temporary holding and prior to shipment is essential to maintain optimal product quality. The incumbent will participate in the continuous improvement of operational procedures, identifying critical control points and minimizing waste. Furthermore, the incumbent will support the training of workers and technicians on quality and food safety standards in accordance with internal QA protocols. Regular reporting to the Quality Supervisor or Quality Manager is required, providing recommendations in the event of non-conformities.
