Job Description:**Position Summary:**

The Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) Mechanical Engineer shall be accountable for the implementation and oversight of the Quality Management System (QMS) pertaining to all mechanical components and systems utilized in infrastructure projects, including but not limited to water treatment plants, desalination facilities, and pumping stations. This position necessitates practical inspection activities, meticulous review of documentation, and substantive collaboration with project teams to guarantee adherence to project specifications, engineering standards, and regulatory mandates.

**Key Responsibilities:**

**Inspection & Testing:**

* Conduct periodic site inspections encompassing receiving, in-process, and final stages of mechanical equipment, piping, welding, and installations, such as pumps, valves, blowers, filtration systems, and HVAC systems.
* Observe and validate mechanical tests, including hydrostatic testing, pneumatic testing, and equipment alignment procedures.
* Ensure the proper calibration and maintenance of all testing and inspection equipment.

**Documentation & Reporting:**

* Develop, review, and approve project-specific Quality Control Plans (QCPs) and Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) for mechanical works.
* Review and approve contractor/supplier documentation, inclusive of material test certificates (MTCs), welding procedures (WPS/PQR), and shop drawings.
* Prepare and manage all QA/QC documentation, encompassing inspection reports, non-conformance reports (NCRs), corrective action reports (CARs), and punch lists.
* Compile final quality dossiers and handover packages for client submittal.

**Compliance & Coordination:**

* Ensure all mechanical works are executed in compliance with project specifications, approved drawings, and relevant international codes and standards, such as ASME, API, ANSI, and AWWA.
* Monitor the implementation of the project’s QMS and ensure adherence to ISO 9001 standards.
* Liaise with the project team, consultants, contractors, and client representatives on all quality-related matters.
* Participate in quality audits (internal and external) and site meetings.

**Problem Solving:**

* Identify and issue NCRs for any deviations from established quality standards.
* Actively participate in root cause analysis of quality failures, ensuring the effective implementation and closure of corrective and preventive actions.
