Job Description:**Project Planning Engineer Position at Parsons**
Parsons is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Project Planning Engineer to join our organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance of comprehensive project planning, scheduling, and cost control strategies across multiple projects. This role requires a subject matter expert in project controls methodologies and reporting procedures.
**Responsibilities:**
* Provide expert guidance and direction in resolving complex project control challenges.
* Serve as a liaison with clients, participating in regular meetings and delivering statistical reports.
* Equip project and company management with the necessary tools for effective project cost control.
* Lead the development of the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), collaborating with relevant departments.
* Analyze, evaluate, forecast, and report on project schedule performance against established baselines.
* Analyze, evaluate, and forecast project costs and overall performance.
* Coordinate staffing requirements, assign and supervise project activities, and provide personnel training.
* Conduct performance reviews and facilitate professional development for assigned personnel.
* Compile and analyze historical data, including performance metrics, for accurate future planning and forecasting.
* Lead a team capable of assessing the impact of design/construction changes and schedule deviations.
* Develop and maintain systems that effectively illustrate plan and schedule hierarchies, ensuring that project and company management remain fully informed.
* Customize project control systems to align with specific project requirements.
* Undertake other responsibilities commensurate with this position, as required.
**Key Relationships:**
* **Supervision Received:** Project Control Manager; Project Manager
* **Supervision Given:** Lower-level Project Control Engineers/Specialists
* **Internal Contacts:** All project employees
* **External Contacts:** Clients; Suppliers; Government Agencies
**Required Qualifications:**
* Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
* A minimum of 10 years of related work experience.
* Fundamental engineering knowledge in electrical, mechanical, civil, or related disciplines.
* Proficiency in PC applications, including the Microsoft Office Suite and various Project Controls software packages.
* Demonstrated experience in a leadership capacity.
* Familiarity with industry best practices.
**Desired Qualifications:**
* Advanced certifications in project planning and scheduling (e.g., PMP, Primavera P6 certification).
* Knowledge of local regulations and standards pertinent to large-scale infrastructure and hospitality projects in the Gulf region.
* Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the capacity to manage multiple tasks and coordinate with diverse stakeholders.
* Proven ability to manage complex project schedules and provide effective solutions to project delays and challenges.
