Job Description: **Project Engineer Team Lead – Position Description**

**Summary:**

The Project Engineer Team Lead is responsible for the leadership and management of a team of Project Engineers, ensuring the successful delivery of complex technology projects for clients. This individual will leverage technical proficiency, leadership acumen, and collaborative skills to achieve consistent, high-quality project outcomes. Responsibilities include serving as a point of escalation for intricate technical challenges, guiding project execution, and fostering continuous improvement in engineering processes and team performance.

The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of five years of practical engineering experience and at least two years of experience in a leadership or team coordination role, preferably within a Managed Services Provider (MSP) environment.

**Responsibilities:**

* Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Project Engineers, facilitating individual growth and collective achievements.
* Oversee and coordinate technology project execution, ensuring projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and exceeding client expectations.
* Serve as the primary technical escalation point for complex deployments and troubleshooting activities.
* Standardize and enhance engineering workflows, documentation practices, and technical quality assurance protocols.
* Collaborate with Project Managers and stakeholders to align resource allocation and project timelines.
* Monitor team performance, providing constructive feedback and identifying training requirements.
* Participate in, and potentially lead, client-facing meetings and technical reviews.
* Maintain involvement in key technological implementations and complex configurations.
* Maintain a Billability utilization target of 70%.
* Champion a culture of accountability, knowledge-sharing, and innovation within the team.
* Demonstrate proficiency in designing, implementing, and troubleshooting infrastructure solutions, including firewalls, servers, networking, and cloud platforms.

**Qualifications:**

* **Technical Qualifications:**
* Advanced experience with Microsoft technologies, including:
* Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS/DHCP
* Hyper-V, Azure AD, EntraID, O365 apps (Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive)
* Email migration (e.g., on-prem to O365 using BitTitan or similar tools)
* MDM platforms (Intune, MaaS360)
* Familiarity with:
* VMWare ESXi, Nutanix Acropolis
* Networking hardware (Cisco, Dell), Firewalls (Fortinet, SonicWall), and WAPs (Meraki, Ubiquiti)
* NAS storage (QNAP, Synology, Dell)
* Experience using PSA tools (e.g., ConnectWise) and RMM platforms (e.g., Automate, Kaseya) is preferred.
* **Leadership Qualifications:**
* Demonstrated ability to lead and coach technical professionals in a distributed/remote environment.
* Exceptional organizational and time management capabilities; ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
* Superior interpersonal and communication skills; capable of conveying complex technical information to non-technical audiences.
* A proactive, service-oriented approach with a strong commitment to team performance and client satisfaction.

**Requirements:**

* Suitable home office environment, including a computer with minimum specifications of 8GB RAM, i5 processor, Windows 10 or macOS Big Sur.
* Stable internet connection with a minimum download and upload speed of 5mbps.
* HD webcam and quality headset with noise cancellation for meetings.
* Mobile phone compatible with the Microsoft Authentication app.
* Adherence to the company’s core values and cultural fit.
* Excellent command of written and spoken English.
* Availability to work full-time, 40 hours per week, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Pacific Standard Time (PST), Monday through Friday, in a fully remote capacity.
* Successful completion of online behavior and cognitive assessments.
* Preference for at least two of the following certifications: CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, 3cx Basic Certified Engineer.

**Compensation:**

* The starting pay rate is $8.70 per hour and is subject to adjustment based on experience.
