The Opportunity Join Canonical’s Product Marketing team and contribute to building the premier Go-To-Market (GTM) engine in the open-source domain. As a rapidly expanding team, we are seeking a highly motivated Product Marketing Manager (PMM) to drive our growth. The ideal candidate possesses a passion for technology, thrives in dynamic environments, and seeks to make a significant global impact. This role is a hands-on, multi-disciplinary, and dynamic position requiring close collaboration with Product, Engineering, Content, Sales, and other Marketing teams. The successful candidate will be passionate about technology, technology marketing, and the application of technology in marketing. Why This Role is Compelling Strategic Ownership: Define and execute the GTM strategy for key products, crafting compelling messaging and positioning that resonates with both developers and enterprise buyers. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with product management, sales, regional marketing, content, and partner marketing teams to bring impactful campaigns to fruition. Creative Innovation: Develop compelling advertising, launch plans, and campaigns that differentiate our products in a competitive landscape. Data-Driven Optimization: Utilize data to refine messaging, optimize marketing funnels, and drive customer engagement. Global Impact: Collaborate with a diverse, high-performing global team spanning over 85 countries in a fully remote environment. Key Responsibilities As a Product Marketing Manager, you will: Develop and execute comprehensive go-to-market (GTM) strategies for a range of products. Lead messaging and positioning initiatives to ensure our products achieve differentiation in a competitive market. Collaborate with product managers on content planning, encompassing website copy, white papers, blog posts, and sales enablement materials. Partner with regional marketing teams to execute integrated marketing campaigns that drive pipeline growth. Lead cross-functional teams to launch new products and features, driving awareness and adoption. Conduct competitive analysis to stay abreast of market trends and inform our positioning strategy. Support the customer success team in driving customer engagement and growth through strategies to upsell and cross-sell across our customer base. Plan and execute global events, live webinars, and community meetups that align with our GTM priorities. Required Skills and Experience A passion for technology and open source, with a genuine interest in innovation, software, and community-driven development. Exceptional storytelling skills, with the ability to craft messaging that resonates with both technical and business audiences. A growth mindset, characterized by a desire for experimentation, learning, and continuous improvement. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Desired Skills and Experience A data-driven mindset, with the ability to leverage insights to refine strategies and improve performance. Experience in product marketing for enterprise software, cloud, DevOps, or open-source solutions. Experience with demand generation, understanding how to translate GTM strategies into pipeline growth. Comfort working cross-functionally with product, sales, partners, and marketing teams. Compensation and Benefits Your base pay will be determined by various factors, including your geographical location, level of experience, knowledge, and skills.
