Overview

We are seeking a Downstream Process Engineer with an experience in process simulation and modeling (refining & chemicals) to join our Global Manufacturing Excellence organization.

Global Manufacturing Excellence support and oversee the performances of Saudi Aramco global manufacturing assets.

Your primary role will be to provide support to Global Manufacturing facilities in technical troubleshooting and optimization through process simulation and modeling and regular updating of Global Manufacturing models in Saudi Aramco model library, in collaboration with other stakeholders following the established company procedures.

Key Responsibilities

As the successful candidate you will be required to perform the following:

Obtain access to Corporate Model Library and manage up-to-date copies of Global Manufacturing simulation models.

Conduct annual process technologies assessments for selected Global Manufacturing facilities for any changes made to the unit (i.e. equipment upgrade, expansions, etc.).

Initiate MOCs, in collaboration with operating facilities, to trigger the in-house updating of relevant process unit simulation model. Endorsed to central engineering the updated model for approval and sign-off to replace the outdated models in the Corporate Model Library.

Provide process engineering simulation support to operating facilities to either troubleshoot issues or conduct optimization studies, as needed, in collaboration with Global Manufacturing Excellence technology process engineers.

Provide in-house simulation trainings to Global Manufacturing process engineers and/or facilitate external vendor trainings for the admin area.

Perform dynamic simulation for flare system sizing, pressure relief studies etc.

Recommend process design and control improvements to operating facilities through simulation and modeling.

Minimum Requirements

You must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or related specialization.  An advanced degree is preferred.

You should have a minimum of 10 years of total experience in process simulation and modeling tools application to either refining or chemical processes.

Experience with working on simulation software like Pro-II, Aspen Plus HYSYS, UNISIM, Petro-SIM, HTRI etc is essential.

Additional experience in process control and APC/PIMS/Tech services is an advantage. Exposure to different technology licensors in Refining and Petrochemicals is a plus.
