**Position:** Principal GCP Architect
**Location:** Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (On-Site)
**Compensation:** Hourly rate to be determined, within a range of $15 to $18 (USD).
**Eligibility:** Restricted to candidates of Pakistani, Indian, CIS, Asian, African, and Arabian nationalities currently residing within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and possessing a valid work visa.
**Position Summary:**
We seek a highly skilled and experienced Principal GCP Architect to spearhead cloud transformation initiatives. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring enterprise-grade scalability, security, and operational efficiency within the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environment. This role requires comprehensive expertise in GCP and Kubernetes (GKE), with a specific focus on cloud migration, infrastructure optimization, and the implementation of DevOps methodologies.
This position necessitates a strategic leader capable of architecting, optimizing, and migrating large-scale workloads to GCP. Furthermore, the incumbent will serve as a mentor and technical advisor to internal teams.
**Essential Responsibilities:**
* **Cloud Architecture and Migration:** Direct the migration of enterprise workloads to Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Architect and implement highly available, multi-region cloud architectures aligned with defined business objectives. Define and enforce cloud security policies, networking configurations, and optimal storage practices. Develop a comprehensive cloud transformation roadmap and ensure seamless integration with existing IT infrastructure.
* **Kubernetes and Deployment Optimization:** Architect and manage Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) clusters across both production and non-production environments. Optimize Kubernetes orchestration, scaling mechanisms, and automation protocols to enhance performance and reliability. Implement robust CI/CD pipelines and cloud-native deployment strategies.
* **High-Availability and Performance Tuning:** Design multi-zone deployments to ensure system resilience and fault tolerance. Optimize GCP networking, Identity and Access Management (IAM), Virtual Private Clouds (VPCs), and interconnects to maximize security and efficiency. Ensure performance tuning, monitoring, and observability to minimize potential downtime.
* **Technical Leadership and Mentorship:** Act as a technical mentor, guiding engineering teams on GCP best practices, cloud cost optimization strategies, and workload automation techniques. Provide strategic insights on cloud governance frameworks, compliance protocols, and risk management principles. Lead knowledge-sharing sessions and conduct training for internal teams on advanced GCP services and DevOps automation.
* **Security, Governance, and Compliance:** Implement stringent cloud security controls, IAM policies, and data encryption strategies. Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards (e.g., ISO, NIST, SOC2, GDPR) for cloud workloads. Develop and oversee incident response procedures and disaster recovery strategies.
