Job Description:**Option:**

The incumbent is responsible for supporting the O&U process units to achieve high production quality and ensure safe operations.

**Supervision of Subordinates:**

* Assume delegated responsibilities of the O&U Shift Supervisor in their absence.
* Monitor and guide the performance of subordinates (panel engineers and operators), ensuring operational efficiency and effectiveness in accordance with established standards.
* Provide technical support to subordinates, review their reports, and contribute to the training and development of new personnel to minimize errors and ensure quality workmanship.

Address and resolve operational problems and complaints as necessary.

**Policies, Processes & Procedures:**

Ensure the correct implementation of all relevant policies and procedures to guarantee efficient and effective work practices.

Ensure strict adherence to health and safety measures and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.

**Reporting:**

* Provide timely and accurate reports and feedback on O&U activities to ensure adherence to plans and schedules.
* Assist the Shift Supervisor in the preparation of operational reports.
* Review panel log sheets and logbooks, reporting any abnormalities to the Shift Supervisor.

**O&U Activities:**

* Control and maintain process parameters on the panel for various units to achieve quality parameters within the specified guidelines of the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
* Communicate with the laboratory for sample analysis and notify the Shift Supervisor of any deviations.
* Make minor process plant adjustments as required.
* Report plant upsets and abnormal conditions to the Shift Supervisor, analyze and identify root causes, propose corrective actions for approval, and inform relevant departments.
* Implement necessary corrective actions for any deviation or abnormality in process or quality parameters under the direction of the Shift Supervisor to maintain safe plant operability and integrity.
* Monitor alarms and alarm history to sustain plant operations and investigate the causes of deviations.
* Monitor fire and gas alarms and notify the fire department and the Shift Supervisor.
* Record and recommend improvements for operations and control functions based on technical experience.
* Manage process and plant emergencies (e.g., compressor trips, pump failures, power or utility failures, leaks) through safe shutdown, isolation, and blowdown of relevant plant sections.
* Participate in risk analysis studies and safety committee activities.

Assist the Shift Supervisor in preparing, implementing, and monitoring SOPs and operation manuals to ensure high levels of plant performance.

* Monitor and control processes through Distributed Control System (DCS) and Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) control panels, and operate the DCS for plant start-up and shutdown operations to ensure consistent quality, product yield, and safe start-up and emergency shutdown procedures to meet target production levels.
* Monitor the consumption of raw materials, chemicals, and other utilities.
* Monitor daily inventory of additives, chemicals, catalysts, and all raw materials required in the PP plant.
* Assist in root cause analysis for operational errors and report to the Shift Supervisor with required process trends and alarm lists.
