AXON HealthTech, a prominent healthcare technology organization specializing in third-party administration (TPA) services, medical discount platforms, and digital healthcare solutions throughout Egypt and the MENA region, invites applications for the position of Medical Approval Manager, based in Maadi, Cairo, Egypt. This is a full-time position requiring rotational shifts with rotational days off.

The Medical Approval Manager will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing the medical pre-authorization and approval processes. The incumbent will lead a team responsible for ensuring medical necessity review, adherence to clinical guidelines, and the timely authorization of services. This role necessitates a strong focus on quality control, process efficiency, and compliance with applicable healthcare regulations.

**Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:**

* Supervising and managing the medical approvals team, encompassing physicians and medical reviewers.
* Ensuring the timely and accurate processing of pre-authorizations and approvals for medical services.
* Developing, implementing, and monitoring clinical guidelines and approval policies.
* Collaborating with insurance companies, providers, and internal departments to facilitate the resolution of medical approval matters.
* Reviewing complex cases and rendering final approval or escalation decisions based on established medical necessity criteria.
* Maintaining compliance with national healthcare regulations, TPA agreements, and internal policies.
* Providing training and development opportunities for the medical approval team to ensure the maintenance of elevated service standards.
* Analyzing approval data and generating regular performance and quality reports.
* Driving continuous improvement initiatives aimed at optimizing the approval workflow and enhancing customer satisfaction.
* Participating in audits, client meetings, and regulatory inspections as required.

Skills:

 

• Bachelor’s degree in Medicine, Pharmacy, or related healthcare field (MD, Pharmacist preferred).
• 5–8 years of experience in medical approvals, pre-authorizations, or clinical claim management.
• Previous leadership or team management experience is a must.
• Deep understanding of medical policies, clinical guidelines, and insurance regulations.
• Strong decision-making skills with attention to detail and clinical accuracy.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience working in a healthcare TPA, insurance, or hospital environment is a plus.
• Fluency in Arabic and English (spoken and written).
