**Mechanical Technician – Responsibilities and Requirements**
The Mechanical Technician is responsible for executing assigned work tasks as directed by senior personnel. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Inspecting, operating, and testing machinery and equipment to diagnose malfunctions, in accordance with provided instructions.
* Dismantling machines, equipment, and devices to access and remove defective components, utilizing hoists, cranes, hand tools, and power tools.
* Performing routine maintenance procedures, including inspecting drives, motors, and belts; monitoring fluid levels; replacing filters; and executing other preventative maintenance measures.
* Repairing machines, equipment, and structures, employing tools such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, wrenches, and precision measuring instruments, as directed.
* Assembling, installing, and repairing mechanical components, pipe systems, plumbing, machinery, and equipment.
* Cleaning and lubricating shafts, bearings, gears, and other machinery components.
* Adjusting functional parts of devices and control instruments, utilizing hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges.
* Planning and organizing repair work based on diagrams, drawings, blueprints, maintenance manuals, and schematic diagrams.
* Operating cutting torches and welding equipment to cut and join metal components.
* Recording the type and cost of maintenance and repair activities.
* Assembling boilers at installation sites, utilizing tools such as levels, plumb bobs, hammers, torches, and other hand tools.
* Performing routine boiler maintenance, installing replacement parts, and reinforcing structural weaknesses to ensure optimal boiler efficiency.
* Setting up and operating machine tools to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs, fixtures, and tools.
* Inspecting used parts to assess changes in dimensional requirements, employing rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
* Addressing customer concerns and providing basic customer-oriented service.
* Preparing and organizing tools and spare parts for upcoming maintenance activities.
* Regularly inspecting the condition and availability of equipment and tools necessary for maintenance dispatch.
**Qualifications**
Candidates should possess a comparable vocational education with significant related work experience or equivalent qualifications. A detailed understanding of the business, encompassing both technical and commercial aspects, is required. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned technician or engineer with a minimum of three years of related experience, preferably in the heavy equipment manufacturing or machinery sector.
