Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to understand assembly requirements.
- Assemble mechanical components and sub-assemblies using hand tools, power tools, and machinery according to established procedures.
- Align and fit components together to ensure proper functionality and adherence to quality standards.
- Install motors, pumps, gears, bearings, shafts, and other mechanical parts onto machinery.
- Perform basic welding, cutting, and grinding operations as required for assembly.
- Test assembled machinery to verify functionality and performance, making adjustments as necessary.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with assembled machinery, including mechanical malfunctions or misalignments.
- Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper storage of tools and equipment.
- Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and other team members to improve assembly processes and resolve technical challenges.
Skills
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in mechanical assembly is preferred.
- Proven experience in mechanical assembly, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and machinery used in assembly.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
- Excellent attention to detail and precision in assembly work.
- Basic welding, cutting, and grinding skills are desirable.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and work in various positions, including standing, kneeling, and bending for extended periods.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
