Job Description:**Mechanical Design Engineer**
**Job Summary:**
Parsons seeks a highly qualified Mechanical Design Engineer to contribute to our organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design and development of solutions for complex mechanical engineering challenges, ensuring adherence to industry standards, codes, and project specifications.
**Responsibilities:**
* Design, develop, and determine methodologies for resolving complex mechanical engineering issues, selecting efficient and cost-effective approaches.
* Apply advanced mechanical engineering principles and analyses to HVAC, firefighting, MEP, piping systems (drain waste & vent, domestic water), and the installation/commissioning of mechanical systems.
* Serve as a discipline Project Engineer on assigned projects, assuming responsibility for the work of the engineering team.
* Plan, direct, and oversee the activities of the engineering unit or project, managing personnel and financial resources.
* Provide leadership to other engineers and design personnel, promoting technical excellence and contributing to quality improvement processes.
* Offer technical consultations for interdisciplinary analytical studies.
* Coordinate and manage all facets of mechanical design, ensuring compliance with applicable codes and regulations.
* Prepare material/equipment specifications and purchase requisitions; review supplier data; observe shop tests; and assist in evaluating supplier manufacturing capabilities.
* Conduct surveys, studies, and site investigations.
* Perform reliability, availability, maintenance (RAM), and safety analyses.
* Develop operation and maintenance (O&M) plans, standard operating procedures, and manuals; provide on-site personnel training.
* Maintain professional affiliations to remain informed of current technologies.
* Determine budget estimates and staffing requirements for defined project scopes and schedules.
* Assist with administrative and technical duties, and contribute to the preparation of technical papers.
* Fulfill other responsibilities associated with the position as required.
**Key Relationships:**
* **Supervision Received:** Supervising Engineer, Project Engineer, Project Manager, Discipline Engineering Manager.
* **Supervision Given:** CAD Drafter/Designers, Designers, Lower-level Engineers.
* **Internal Contacts:** All project employees.
* **External Contacts:** Suppliers, Clients, Government Entities, 3rd Party Utility Providers.
**Required Qualifications:**
* Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized/accredited university.
* A minimum of ten (10) years of related work experience, including experience in the Middle East.
* Professional Engineer registration is mandatory.
* Demonstrated ability to perform in a leadership capacity.
* Excellent written, oral communication, and presentation abilities.
* Familiarity with industry practices and regulations.
* Comprehensive knowledge of current technology with the ability to select and apply appropriate engineering software for project execution.
**Desired Qualifications:**
* PMP Certification
* KSA Driving License
