Job Description
We are seeking a Material Technical Manager to oversee all aspects of materials management within our organization. This individual will be responsible for ensuring the quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness of materials used in our products and operations. The Material Technical Manager will work closely with production, procurement, engineering, and other departments to develop and implement materials strategies that support our business goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement materials management strategies to ensure the quality, availability, and cost-effectiveness of materials used in production processes.
- Coordinate with suppliers to source and procure necessary materials, negotiating favorable terms and pricing.
- Oversee materials inventory and storage, ensuring that all materials are properly handled, stored, and accounted for.
- Monitor and analyze materials usage and performance data to identify opportunities for improvement and cost savings.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to select and test new materials and technologies that enhance product performance and reliability.
- Lead cross-functional teams in materials-related projects, providing technical guidance and support.
- Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards for materials handling and usage.
Skills
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in materials science, engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in materials management, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Strong technical knowledge of materials properties, testing methods, and industry standards.
- Experience with materials sourcing, procurement, and inventory management.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
