Marine Electrician

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Marine Electrician to join our team in Doha, Qatar. As a Marine Electrician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems on marine vessels and offshore platforms. Your expertise in marine electrical systems and equipment will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our fleet. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in marine electrical systems, exceptional problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in challenging environments.

Responsibilities:

1. Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems on marine vessels and offshore platforms.
2. Inspect and test electrical systems to ensure they meet safety and performance standards.
3. Diagnose electrical issues and develop effective solutions to repair or replace faulty components.
4. Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
5. Collaborate with other members of the crew, including engineers and technicians, to troubleshoot and resolve electrical problems.
6. Assist in the installation and maintenance of navigation and communication systems.
7. Ensure compliance with relevant safety regulations and protocols.
8. Keep accurate records of electrical maintenance and repair activities.
9. Participate in training programs and stay updated on the latest developments in marine electrical systems.
10. Adhere to company policies and procedures, including safety protocols and environmental regulations.

Preferred Candidate:

1. Prior experience as a Marine Electrician or similar role in the marine industry.
2. Strong knowledge of marine electrical systems, including AC and DC circuits, generators, motors, and control panels.
3. Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
4. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve electrical issues.
5. Attention to detail and commitment to ensuring work is completed to the highest standards.
6. Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with other crew members.
7. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
8. Physical fitness and the ability to work in challenging environments, including confined spaces and at heights.
9. Valid electrical license/certification is preferred.
