ERM is seeking a highly qualified and motivated Senior Impact Assessment Consultant to join our team in the Middle East, with significant opportunities for international travel. The successful candidate will possess a demonstrated environmental and/or social consulting background, enabling them to manage and deliver environmental impact assessment (ESIA) and environmental and social due diligence (ESDD) projects. A proven track record of successfully delivering ESIA and ESDD projects in compliance with international best practices for multinational clients is essential. This role, based in our Abu Dhabi office, will operate within our broader Capital Projects Delivery division within the EMEA technical community. The incumbent will collaborate with consultants and partners in international teams, as well as corporations, multilateral finance institutions, and other private and public sector clients, to assess a wide range of corporate environmental, social, and ethical issues, communicating with stakeholders at both corporate and operational levels. Project delivery constitutes the core responsibility of this position.

Main responsibilities and tasks include:

* Contributing to the delivery of ESIAs and associated management plans in compliance with international best practice standards (e.g., IFC Performance Standards, World Bank ESS, Equator Principles), as well as country-specific requirements and general best practices where specific standards do not apply. Expected project delivery activities include report writing, undertaking and organizing data collection and survey field work, data and literature review, impact and risk analysis, management and mitigation planning, and development of recommendations for clients.
* Directing and monitoring project management activities related to ESIA/ESMP/ESDD projects.
* Collaborating with other ERM global practitioners to execute impact assessment and management projects, participating on teams comprised of Impact Assessment Practitioners (IAPs) from multiple offices within the global ERM organization.
* Contributing to proposal development, including the development of technical scopes and cost estimates.
* Maintaining client relationships to support repeat business.
* Working with other global ERM resources to deepen relationships with ERM key and high growth / high value clients to expand ERM’s profile and market share in the global IAP market (through a combination of excellence in technical delivery and business development support).

**Profile Sought:**

* Bachelor’s Degree in environmental science/engineering or a related field; Master’s or PhD preferred.
* Proficiency in Arabic is advantageous.
* Relevant environmental and social consulting experience, including successful project and team management on ESIAs/ESMPs and ESDD activities.
* Strong technical E&S experience related to priority sectors including energy, infrastructure, and extractives.
* Comprehensive understanding of relevant international E&S Safeguards and Standards, i.e., IFC Performance Standards, Equator Principles, World Bank ESS.
* Commitment to health and safety excellence.
* Experience utilizing data and technology to address clients’ E&S challenges.
* Willingness to travel internationally.
* Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).
