Job Description:**Subject: Line Mechanic Position – Nestlé Saudi Manufacturing**
Nestlé Saudi Manufacturing, a subsidiary of the world’s leading food and beverage company, seeks a highly motivated and skilled Line Mechanic to join its team in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This full-time position, reporting to the Maintenance and Industrial Services Engineer, is crucial to ensuring the continuous and efficient operation of processing, filling, and packing equipment within a Greenfield food factory.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the effective maintenance of equipment such as can fillers, seamers, palletizers/de-palletizers, case packers, dry mixing systems, cappers, and conveyors. This encompasses timely maintenance and improvement tasks, proactive troubleshooting to minimize downtime, and the implementation of continuous improvement projects to optimize plant performance and reduce operational costs. Adherence to all safety and regulatory standards, including people safety, food safety, and Nestlé’s Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), is paramount. The role requires the ability to work rotational shifts, weekends, and public holidays. Practical implementation of process descriptions based on NQMS objectives and principles, along with the review and improvement of KPIs, are essential components of this role.
**Key Responsibilities:**
* **Asset Management (AMM):** Develop and maintain maintenance plans for all process, filling, and packing equipment in accordance with manufacturer specifications, Nestlé standards, and regulatory requirements. Continuously optimize existing maintenance plans to improve cost-effectiveness and reduce unplanned stoppages. Execute work orders and ensure timely technical completion.
* **Spare Parts Management:** Develop Bills of Materials (BOM) for all assets based on manufacturer specifications, Nestlé standards, and regulatory requirements. Perform asset classification to align with internal and external standards.
* **Efficiency and Cost:** Identify and implement improvement and energy/cost-saving initiatives to optimize operations, minimize expenses, and enhance product quality and plant performance. Execute all planned/assigned tasks within the allocated timeframe to meet monthly Maintenance & Industrial Services (M&I) budget targets.
* **Safety and Compliance:** Conduct risk assessments for equipment and maintenance tasks. Adhere to safe working practices, quality/hygiene standards, and compliance with hygiene work permits and Permit To Work systems. Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and log sheets to meet all legal, mandatory, safety, compliance, and hygiene standards. Regularly review and update SOPs and log sheets.
* **Third-Party Contractor Management:** Effectively communicate and coordinate with contractors to plan and execute routine and non-routine activities in a safe and timely manner, ensuring adherence to safety and hygiene standards.
**Qualifications:**
* Diploma or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering.
* Three to five years of experience in a technical field, preferably within the FMCG industry (as a mechanic or similar role).
* Proficiency in English is required.
* Knowledge of workshop basics, including machining, cutting, grinding, drilling, and welding.
* Experience with SAP AMM (Asset Maintenance Management) is highly desirable.
* Experience participating in multi-disciplinary teams focused on process and activity optimization.
* Ability to work within defined KPIs/objectives and proactively follow up on progress.
* Participation in basic SHE and Food Safety training is recommended.
* Exposure to TPM, preventive maintenance planning, and maintenance execution is recommended.
* Basic supervisory experience with technical teams (contractors, suppliers, or third parties) is preferred.
* Basic exposure to the coordination or planning of maintenance activities, considering safety, food safety, and other constraints.
