**Summary:**
The Pool Attendant is responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of guests utilizing the swimming pool and surrounding recreational areas. This includes, but is not limited to, actively monitoring the pool area for potential hazards, enforcing facility rules and regulations, and providing assistance to guests in need. The incumbent will administer first aid and/or CPR as necessary and will maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the pool deck and related amenities.
**Essential Functions:**
* Execute appropriate rescue techniques when observing swimmers requiring assistance.
* Maintain vigilant observation of the swimming area to identify and address potential dangers, unusual activities, and swimmers experiencing difficulty.
* Enforce all established rules and regulations of the recreational facility.
* Proactively identify situations where guests may be unable to safely participate in activities and immediately inform supervisory personnel.
* Render first aid assistance to injured guests until the arrival of emergency medical services.
* Contribute to a positive and relaxing environment for all guests.
* Manage the supply of towels by obtaining, folding, and stacking them according to established company procedures.
* Maintain the cleanliness of the pool deck through washing, mopping, and general cleaning duties.
* Report all accidents, injuries, and unsafe working conditions to management; complete all required safety training and certifications.
* Adhere to all company policies and procedures; maintain the confidentiality of proprietary information; protect company assets.
* Greet and acknowledge all guests in accordance with company standards; ensure a clean and professional uniform and personal appearance; anticipate and address guest service needs; assist individuals with disabilities; express sincere appreciation to guests.
* Communicate effectively with others using clear and professional language.
* Support colleagues and treat them with dignity and respect.
* Meet all quality assurance expectations and standards.
* Conduct visual inspections of tools, equipment, and machines to identify any defects.
* Maintain the physical ability to move quickly to respond to work situations (e.g., running, walking, jogging).
* Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods of time or for an entire work shift.
* Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance and objects weighing in excess of 75 pounds with assistance.
* Demonstrate fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination necessary to grasp, turn, and manipulate objects of varying sizes and weights.
* Traverse sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces, as well as ascend and descend ladders, stairs, and/or service ramps.
* Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
* Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by management.
**Qualifications:**
* **Education:** High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required.
* **Experience:** No prior related work experience required.
* **Supervisory Experience:** No supervisory experience required.
**Certifications:**
* Current CPR Certification.
* Current First Aid Certification.
* Fitness Equipment Certification.
* Any certifications or training mandated by local and state agencies.
