Job Description:**Job Title: Level 3 Network Security Engineer – Network Security Device Management**
**Job Summary:**
The Level 3 Network Security Engineer is responsible for providing advanced-level support, configuration, and administration of a comprehensive suite of network security technologies. This encompasses, but is not limited to, the following: SSL Inspection (Gigamon), Virtual Private Network (Palo Alto, F5), Web Proxy (ForcePoint), Firewalls (Palo Alto, Cisco, Fortinet), Distributed Denial-of-Service (DDoS) Protection (Arbor), Advanced Threat Protection (FireEye NX), Intrusion Prevention Systems (Cisco, Trilex), and Email Security (Cisco Iron Port, FireEye EX, ForcePoint ESG, Trend Micro Scan-Mail). The incumbent will serve as the ultimate escalation point for complex security incidents, lead incident response activities, and provide expert technical guidance to optimize security efficacy and performance across all managed technologies.
**Key Responsibilities:**
* **Advanced Support & Escalation Management:** Act as the final escalation point for complex incidents impacting network security technologies. Conduct thorough troubleshooting and root cause analysis, implementing corrective actions and enhancements to mitigate future occurrences.
* **Configuration, Optimization & Maintenance:** Oversee the configuration, tuning, and ongoing maintenance of SSL Inspection, VPN, Web Proxy, Firewall, DDoS Protection, Advanced Threat Protection, Intrusion Prevention, and Email Security solutions. Develop, document, and enforce security best practices and configuration standards across all managed devices.
* **Incident Response & Reporting:** Lead and coordinate incident response efforts during critical security events, collaborating with relevant teams to ensure rapid resolution and containment. Prepare comprehensive post-incident reports, detailing findings, remediation steps, and recommendations for continuous improvement.
* **Technical Leadership & Mentorship:** Provide mentorship and guidance to Level 2 engineers and junior staff members, fostering their professional development and contributing to the development of best practice documentation. Participate in technology reviews, risk assessments, and security audits to ensure alignment with organizational security objectives.
* **Collaboration & Strategy:** Collaborate closely with network, IT, and security teams to design and implement robust security architectures that effectively address evolving threats and vulnerabilities. Recommend and implement technology upgrades and process improvements to strengthen the overall security posture of the organization.
**Required Qualifications:**
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a closely related field.
* A minimum of seven (7) years of professional experience in network security engineering, with a demonstrated focus on the administration and management of diverse security technologies.
* Proven expertise in the management and operation of SSL Inspection (Gigamon), VPN (Palo Alto, F5), Web Proxy (ForcePoint), Firewalls (Palo Alto, Cisco, Fortinet), DDoS Protection (Arbor), Advanced Threat Protection (FireEye NX), Intrusion Prevention Systems (Cisco, Trilex), and Email Security (Cisco Iron Port, FireEye EX, ForcePoint ESG, Trend Micro Scan-Mail) solutions.
* Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, both written and verbal.
**Desired Skills & Certifications:**
* Advanced certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), or equivalent credentials.
* Vendor-specific certifications related to the technologies listed above (e.g., Palo Alto, F5, Cisco, Fortinet, Arbor, FireEye, ForcePoint) are highly desirable.
* Experience with Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) processes, incident management frameworks, and change management methodologies.
**Working Conditions:**
This is a full-time position with standard business hours (9:00 AM to 5:00 PM) and potential on-call responsibilities. The work environment is fast-paced and may involve working under pressure, often in collaboration with global teams. Extended hours may be required during critical incidents or planned maintenance windows.
