Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Assist with food preparation, including chopping vegetables, preparing salads, and assembling dishes.
- Clean and sanitize kitchen surfaces, equipment, and utensils according to established sanitation standards.
- Wash dishes, pots, pans, and other kitchen utensils by hand or using dishwashers.
- Organize and stock kitchen inventory, including food, ingredients, and cleaning supplies.
- Dispose of waste and recycling in designated areas, ensuring proper separation and disposal procedures are followed.
- Assist chefs and cooks with various tasks as needed, such as fetching ingredients, garnishing dishes, and plating food.
- Follow proper food handling and safety procedures to minimize the risk of contamination and ensure food quality.
- Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen workspace, including sweeping and mopping floors, and emptying trash receptacles.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines at all times.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff members to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of tasks.
Skills
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a kitchen environment is preferred but not required.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to follow instructions closely.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.
- Physical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds).
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices is a plus.
- High school diploma or equivalent qualification is preferred.
