Currently, we are seeking a vigilant and proactive HSE Engineer/Supervisor to oversee Health, Safety, and Environmental compliance on a 400kV substation EPC project in the UAE. This position is ideally suited for an engineer with a background in occupational safety, engineering, or environmental management, coupled with a demonstrable commitment to fostering a safe and compliant work environment. The role necessitates full-time on-site presence during the construction phase, with potential assignments in remote and isolated project locations.

**Qualifications and Requirements:**

* **Education:** Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
* **Certifications:** Certifications such as NEBOSH, OSHA, or IOSH are highly preferred.
* **Experience:** A minimum of 2-5 years of experience in HSE roles within construction or industrial projects.
* **Language:** Proficiency in English is essential.
* **Mobility:** Willingness to work in remote site locations for extended periods during the construction phase is required.

**Key Responsibilities:**

* Implement and monitor the project-specific HSE plan in accordance with client and regulatory requirements.
* Conduct daily site inspections, risk assessments, and toolbox talks to ensure adherence to safe work practices.
* Supervise compliance with permit-to-work systems, lockout/tagout procedures, and confined space protocols.
* Investigate and report incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions, recommending appropriate corrective actions.
* Coordinate with construction teams, subcontractors, and site management to enforce safety standards.
* Maintain accurate records of HSE audits, training sessions, and incident logs.
* Ensure the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), emergency equipment, and first aid resources.
* Promote a culture of safety awareness, environmental stewardship, and continuous improvement.

**Skills and Competencies:**

* Comprehensive knowledge of UAE labor laws and environmental compliance regulations.
* Familiarity with electrical substation hazards (work in live substation), heavy equipment safety, and construction site protocols.
* Excellent communication and leadership skills.
* Ability to work independently and make prompt, informed decisions in field conditions.
