Canonical is a founder-led, profitable, and expanding organization. The Opportunity: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced HR Generalist to support our EMEA region. This role reports to the Regional HR Manager and will contribute to the development and implementation of HR strategies that align with our continued growth plans. As a key member of the HR team, you will provide support to our colleagues’ personal needs and development while ensuring consistent adherence to high standards across diverse teams, managers, and directors. Responsibilities: Provide HR guidance to team members and managers, setting clear expectations for behavior and performance. Partner with line managers to deliver employee relations advice based on global policies and procedures. Ensure accurate and timely processing of employee changes, onboarding, and offboarding. Manage and drive benefit programs across our EMEA locations (UK, Ireland, France, Germany, and Spain). Collaborate with the finance team on monthly payroll, projects, and inquiries. Support the full employee lifecycle, including onboarding, benefit administration, and departure processes. Apply critical thinking to identify opportunities for automation and streamline administrative tasks. Take a lead role in the management, continued development, and integration of our HR system. Serve as a system expert and advocate for the global HR team. Generate data-driven reports to inform and influence HR initiatives. Lead and participate in projects, contributing to tangible business impact. Support internal resource groups to drive initiatives such as diversity and inclusion. Create, update, and maintain corporate policies with a global perspective and local application. Ensure consistent application of HR policies and procedures. Qualifications: Exceptional academic record from both high school and university. Relevant professional qualification(s) and certifications in Human Resources. Demonstrated practical expertise in German, UK, and/or French HR practices and employment laws. Knowledge of other EMEA laws and practices is highly desirable. Self-directed, organized problem solver with the ability to prioritize and meet goals and deadlines. Proven ability to exercise discretion, sound judgment, tact, and diplomacy in all communications. Fearless and principled approach to professional interactions at all levels of the business, with a commitment to maintaining the confidentiality of sensitive information. Willingness and ability to travel up to four times per year for internal events, including at least one trip of two full working weeks.
