Job Description:An employee in this position may be required to perform any or all of the following essential duties:
* Maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of designated interior building areas, including restrooms, floors, windows, furniture, and waste receptacles.
* Assisting with the upkeep of exterior grounds by removing litter/trash, emptying receptacles, cleaning ramps/patios, and clearing pathways, sidewalks, parking lots, and drives.
* Collecting and disposing of trash and recycling in accordance with established Zoo conservation protocols.
* Representing the Zoo professionally and providing excellent customer service.
* Supervising assigned part-time team members, delegating tasks to ensure Zoo cleanliness.
* Supporting Junior Curators and Volunteers to ensure productivity.
* Ordering supplies from the warehouse to maintain adequate stock levels in assigned areas and ensure closet organization.
* Preparing written materials and reports (e.g., supply orders, activity logs, FMX work orders).
* Assisting with the preparation and cleanup of special events, including furniture rearrangement and receptacle placement.
* Actively supporting and contributing to the Oklahoma City Zoo’s sustainability initiatives and green practices.
* Operating light machinery, such as floor scrubbers and waxing machines, in designated areas.
* Performing minor building maintenance duties as needed.
* Assisting with radio communication and responding to immediate safety and/or operational concerns.
* Communicating effectively with the Buildings Management Team to complete assigned tasks and meet deadlines.
* Participating in the Zoo’s conservation efforts, such as Waste Audits and Lake Clean Ups.
* Engaging in conservation activities to support the Zoo’s mission.
