**Position Summary:**
The Guest Relations Duty Manager is responsible for managing guest check-in and check-out procedures, ensuring accurate account management, and providing exceptional guest service. This individual will serve as a primary point of contact for guest inquiries and requests, requiring effective communication and problem-solving skills. The role also entails administrative duties, including report generation and adherence to established accounting procedures.
**Key Responsibilities:**
* Process guest check-ins, including verifying identity, payment method, assigning rooms, and activating room keys.
* Establish and maintain accurate guest accounts, incorporating Marriott Rewards information and verifying rate accuracy.
* Secure payment prior to issuing room keys and resolve billing discrepancies.
* Generate and review daily reports, logs, and contingency lists.
* Complete cashier and closing reports, ensuring accurate reconciliation.
* Provide guests with directions, property information, and assistance with requests, escalating as needed.
* Process various payment types, vouchers, and charges, adhering to accounting procedures.
* Balance and secure the bank at the beginning and end of each shift.
* Report any incidents of theft to Loss Prevention/Security.
* Assist in the training, evaluation, and coaching of employees.
* Serve as a role model and first point of contact for the Guarantee of Fair Treatment/Open Door Policy.
* Develop and maintain positive working relationships, supporting team goals and addressing employee concerns.
* Adhere to company policies and procedures, including safety protocols and confidentiality guidelines.
* Welcome and acknowledge guests, anticipating their needs and providing assistance to individuals with disabilities.
* Communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing.
* Maintain quality standards and utilize computer/POS systems effectively.
* Perform physical tasks, including standing, sitting, walking, and lifting up to 10 pounds.
* Execute other reasonable job duties as directed by supervisors.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
* Education: High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
* Related Work Experience: Minimum of one year in a related role.
* Supervisory Experience: Minimum of one year in a supervisory capacity.
* License or Certification: None required.
