Local Unit & Position DescriptionThe financial controller is accountable for oversight, management, support, follow-up and improvement of the financial and commercial activities of the operational unit in accordance with DNV Inspection strategies and budgets.Will ensure an appropriate financial control environment is established and maintained within the operational unit and will ensure that DNV Inspection principles, processes and systems are appropriately followed by the business. Also assist the SFM with other tasks on an ad hoc basis as required by the needs of the business.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following for operational unit:Preparation of month end and year end close process and associated reporting.Acts as a business partner for Project and Line Managers by Preparing and controlling the progress of projects profitability, investigating variances and advice for an improvement as applicable.Leading cash flow improvement within the unit through a close follow up internally and externally. Driving processes in-country to improve working capital balances.Leading and managing annual Budget processPreparation of commercial bids and support the Sales and Operations teams in the proposal processes.Systems implementation and support to Operations teams in order to ensure and improve data quality .Awareness of local tax and financial legislation in order to ensure commercial tendering and daily operations have any potential financial exposure adequately covered.Support financial and commercial awareness training requirements for both finance and non-finance personnel.Ad hoc activities as directed by management.Position QualificationsA University degree (Finance/Accounting)Professional accounting qualification is a preference5+ years experience of professional experience in controlling, financeProven ability to drive systems, processes and controls.Commercial mindsetExperience of Oracle FinanceStrong Excel skillsExcellent communicatorAbility to manage under pressure and to tight deadlines.Flexible team player willing to do whatever is needed to deliver tasks.Company & Business Area DescriptionDNV is the independent expert in assurance and risk management, operating in more than 100 countries.
